Default LINEUP CHANGE: Tyler and George in, J-Mac and Rush to the bench

    Per Mike Wells' Twitter.

Good move or act of desperation?

showed mrs indyfan, her comment was 'that doesn't surprise me.'

neither tyler or josh is playing particularly well, so i guess i'm fine with it.

If so I don't think it will work altho we are playing a pretty weak team tonight. Tyler and George will be like the 3rd and 4th offensive options. It may work for George but it will not work for Tyler. You want 15 to 25 points out of him he has to be the #1 option and needs the low post (where Hibbert is going to post up) to make his drives to the basket with the hook shot (his 3 point play, a basket and a free throw).

Leave him on the 2nd unit where he can go to work. I say that being his #1 fan. If he starts, hope I am wrong, but I don't look for a big game out of him. Don't see how he and Hibbert can both have big games playing at the same time along with Granger.

And Paul George with 30 points!

Good to see Paul going out there and playing with Danny.
In 49 states it's just basketball, but this is Indiana!

They don't need a big game out if Hans. They need a 'big' game out
of DG, Hibbs and/or DC with Hans playing a solid game in a complimentary
    role.

If you don't need a big game out of Hansbrough what do you need him for at all. His game is scoring. Take that away from him and what does he contribute - a few rebounds? McRoberts can do that so what is the point?

I was wondering when we'd see a change with the absolutely abysmal starts the "starters" have been getting off too. Says more about rush and DJ than it does Georges play but I'm excited for this nonetheless

Psycho T being the only reason we were even close last night certainly didn't hurt his case.
Reggie Miller is a God. Period.

I get what you're saying, but our starters are playing like crap to the point where we actually need Tyler's scoring in the starting lineup. No one else is scoring enough. Collison, Hibbert, and to a lesser extent Granger have not been scoring consistently. You can't depend on any of them for 20 ppg a night really.

So J Mac goes from almost being traded to losing his starting spot.

I would have rather started Jones for Rush, and AJ for DC
Sittin on top of the world!

Collison should have been replaced as well, but I can settle for a reduction in his minutes.

Excellent move. It would have taken JOB at least a month to figure that out.

I want to see Collison with Hans. I think he is the biggest beneficiary here.

I called for this exact move in another thread earlier today.

I agree that Collison hasn't been very good, but at this point AJ Price is not an upgrade. It's a lateral move that would likely have some dire consequences on Darren's psyche. To me, that wouldn't be a very intelligent move to make.

It took a little too long, but I understand the reasons why FV chose not to tinker with rotations.

I thought Price and Hansbrough had pretty good chemistry in that second unit. Their quotes regarding the Goon Squad portrayed them as leaders of that bunch, despite how much Dahntay tries to force the issue.

I do wonder where Tyler's shots are going to come from, and at whose expense. He'll get his buckets that come from hustling, but I worry that with a unit that already has ball-stoppers in Collison, Danny, and Roy to an extent how Hansbrough's own tendency to hold the ball will fit in.

I have no doubt that George will fit in seamlessly with whatever unit we put him in. His game is so versatile that he can adapt to whichever role we need him to play.

I'm really interested in seeing how the team reacts to yet another test of their chemistry.

I would have preferred just one change in the lineup, either Brandon gets benched for Paul or Josh gets benched for Tyler. Switching two guys at the same time might take longer to adjust/see what we really have rather than just a one man switch.

Either way, I think the move was a good one and can't really complain at all when it was obvious something needed to be changed.

Tyler should have happened months ago. This is about when you'd want to start George, though. They're slumping so badly, he's got zero pressure to win games.

    PH-

I guess my point was this. In a bigger picture sense (seperate from
tonight's game), given the strengths and weaknesses of the other
starters, the Pacers need defense, rebounding and then, after those
aspects of the game, scoring from the PF slot.

Minor point...but in the last 10 games....Hansbrough averages 6.7 rebounds per game while McBob averages 5.3 rebounds per game.

I think it's a trade off....McBob offers the "intangibles" when it comes to the offensive end ( great passing, athleticsm ) whereas Hanbrough offers a different skillset ( better scoring, slightly better rebounding ).

Given our poor outing as of late....I'm willing to try anything different.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

well that's good, because Tyler's also a better rebounder than McRoberts...
