    Default Off-Season Trade w/ Houston

    Indiana Gets:
    1 - Courtney Lee
    2 - Chase Budinger
    3 - Jordan Hill
    4 - Brad Miller
    5 - 1st Rd Picks x2 (1x in 2011 & 1x in 2012)
    6 - 2nd Rd Pick
7 - Trade Exception to cancel out Posey's deal

    Houston Gets:
    1 - Danny Granger
    2 - James Posey
    3 - Brandon Rush
    4 - Dahntay Jones

For Houston it is pretty obvious in that they get Danny to team with Lowry, Martin, Scola and whomever they can sign at Center. A rotation of -

    Lowry, Dragic
    Martin, Rush, Jones
    Granger, Williams, Posey
    Scola, Patterson
    FA, Hayes, Thabeet

    - is pretty enticing.

For Indiana we take a loss in granger but we also end up with 2 1st round picks in each of the next 2 drafts as well as getting 3 young prospects to move forward with that fit in better with the ages of our young nucleus. We also rid ourselves of Posey and Jones's longer deals in the process.

PG - Collison, Price, Rookie ? (Knight, Smith, Fredette)
    SG - Lee, Stephenson,
SF - George, Budinger, Rookie ? (Barnes, Burk, Vesely)
PF - McRoberts, Hansbrough, Rookie ? (Thompson, Morris, Henson)
    C - Hibbert, Hill, Foster

This gives us quite a few options moving forward as well as retaining our cap flexibility. This group is most likely a lottery team next year but all that means if we have a shot at getting a real top tier talent in that draft while also getting LOTS of development out of our young guys. Thoughts ?

    That is a TERRIBLE trade!

    Why would we do this?
In 49 states it's just basketball, but this is Indiana!

To each his own of course, but to throw an adjective out there such as "terrible" is a little much. 2 lotto likely lotto pics as well as 2 young wing, and 1 young PF/C prospect with lots of upside for Danny and Rush.....not to mention the fact that they take on Posey and Jones......I think if anything its Houston who might turn it down.....this is as good or better than what Denver got for Mello or Utah got for Williams.

The only thing I want from Houston is Luis Scola and if we're giving up Danny to Houston, that's who I would want in return.

Doing a Scola for Danny swap wouldn't make much sense for either side....Scola is too old to go through a rebuilding process with Indiana and the only reason Houston would trade for Danny is to contend which they wouldn't do without Scola... I would love to get Scola here in Indy if we could get him without giving up Danny, George, Roy but thats unlikely...
