AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Fans are still not filling the seats at Conseco Fieldhouse, but more of them are tuning in at home to watch the Indiana Pacers.
The Pacers' ratings on Fox Sports Indiana are up 24 percent from the same time last season and up 40 percent from the final season rating, according to the Nielsen Media Research.
Tuesday's loss to the Miami Heat was the most-watched Pacers game since Jan. 28, 2007, against Detroit.
"It's been a very good year for the Pacers on Fox Sports Indiana," Pacers vice president of entertainment Jamie Berns said. "I think fans are really connecting with this team and are excited about the remainder of the season and the future."
The next step for the Pacers, who have a 7-3 record under interim coach Frank Vogel, is to get fans back to the fieldhouse.
The Pacers are averaging 13,599 fans a game, which is 28th in the league.
They have had five sellouts this season, including Tuesday's.
In four of those games, however, a significant portion of the crowd was cheering for the opposing team.
I'd like to see the attendance improve, but this is certainly a good sign.
