    Lance can shoot though.

I don't think they play all that similar really. The similarities are more off the court.

he's a flashy passer and likes to dominate the ball, so at every level of competition..high school, college, and now pros apparently..people have tried to play him at point.

It hasn't worked so far. Maybe it'll work against the best players in the world..

Yep, exactly. I mean, have we learned nothing from the case of Tyreke Evans? Tyreke is a better ball handler than Lance and he can't cut it at the point.

I think we might be the only two beating this drum, but I really think Lance should play next to AJ. I really think they would be a really good match in the backcourt together.

I agree. Price can play the point off the ball. Which means Lance can have the ball in his hands. They have complimentary skill sets.

I'm obviously going to have a hard time coming around to the Stephenson bandwagon. But I will say, I think forcing him into the point guard position is completely unfair to him.

I think we should actually wait to see him play a few games in the NBA before we give our expert opinions.

He might be more of a natural SG, but I love that the Pacers are trying to develop him as a PG. As a SG, he could have an average career, I mean, Bird has talked him up A LOT, so maybe he's doing stuff in practice that we don't understand, but in that case, why is he still on the bench?

If he can develop as a PG, he becomes a very good weapon that can bully smaller guards, which would be pretty much everyone. If he can run the offense well enough to not make stupid mistakes, he will be a great weapon.

From what little we were truly allowed to see of him, he looked like a small combo wing that could handle the ball but liked to call his own number a lot. Yes, he got 5 assists the one significant game he played, but otherwise that aspect of his game was not shown. But, I also am tending to take what we saw with a large enough quantity of grains of salt that I will need to cut back my sodium intake for this week to compensate for it due to what our coaching staff was trying to get him to do to achieve O'Brien's dream point guard who could both score at will from the perimeter as well as dribble penetrate and finish with his size and strength without much overall regard for defense or passing.

So, I don't truly know at this point. I didn't watch his college career, but I really think he could be a 2 with an occasional speed mismatch at the 3 due to his potential to handle the ball.

I don't know becuase he has not played in a single reg. season game but If I were to guess (which is what we are really doing here) I would say he is a playmaker. What position does a playmaker play? I don't care I just want a playmaker on the court.

What time is his court appearance today?

I'll be real interested in hearing the results. I won't be the least bit surprised to hear the case will be continued.

He is a SG that can play PG on the side, similar to how Dunleavy is a SF that can play PG on the side.

This is EXACTLY my point. His ceiling is maybe slightly above-average as a SG, but very high as a point. Thank you.

Here's a really good highlight video of him.

    He played SG in college.

He's a good scorer and can cut towards the hoop. He looks like a pretty good shooter too when he has the ball passed to him from a PG.

    PG

There is no doubt in my mind Lance is a PG. He has better court vision and passing ability than any PG we have on the roster, IMO. And he has the body to be a very good NBA defender in time. The problem is Lance wasn't in good enough shape entering the season. He needed to shed about 20 lbs, so hopefully he's put his time off to good use. He plays the same game as Collison really, but he is a more gifted passer and has better court vision than Darren. His mid range game is probably just as good and that is Collisons biggest strength. And his size is just such a huge x factor at that position it's hard for me to imagine him being better anywhere else on the court. I want my PG to be a threat whenever they have the ball, and Lance has the potential to be that type of player.

And as far as his off the court issues I think they are probably a little over blown at this point in time. People are still traumatized by Jamal Tinsley around these parts. But I think the biggest difference between the two is that Lance is a real competitor. He plays with a fire that you never saw from Jamal Tinsley. That says a lot to me and it will take him a long way.

The first min of this interview talks about his old food habits it is

good interview "i'll be an all-star" "i would be a lawyer" LOL

I have trouble finding a comparable, he's not the vertical athlete Tyreke is.

Stuckey is as close as I've seen, but even thats not right.

I agree that he's like a 2 guard version of Stuckey.

Stuckey is more of a natural PG than Lance.

I especially enjoyed the part where he uses the defenders face as a springboard for elevation.

He's gonna be a different kind of player than we've ever had like Paul.

He's gonna do well with everyone on this team I think.

He did pretty well in the few minutes in preseason against the Bulls when he started with DC.

Serious question, wouldn't every SG's ceiling be higher as a PG?
