    Operating While Intoxicated.

There are a lot of acronyms for what is essentially drunk driving.

DUI in Indiana is really called OWI technically.... It means the same thing.

    Operating While Intoxicated.

EDIT: There's been a subtle (or not quite so subtle) push to go with impaired instead of terms like 'drunk' (or even 'intoxicated') since 'drunk/intoxicated' conjures up a much different image in people's minds as compared to a term like 'impaired'. So I might be going off of old information when I say OWI stands for Operating While Intoxicated. It wouldn't surprise me to see it's changed recently (or that it will change in the near future) in the Indiana Code to Operating While Impaired.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
