I love what I've seen and heard from Frank Vogel so far, but as stated above, it's still too early to tell.

It's a great start beating the teams you're suppose to beat (you could argue the Portland win), and there's a valid argument the Pacers would not have won these games under the former coach.

I would still like to see how this plays out a bit more. We have some winnable road games coming up that I want to see how we handle, and I also would like to see a few solid victories against teams that maybe we shouldn't beat

As long as he keeps this up. Still to early to completely campaign for it though.

He's done a great job so far, and all the signs are showing that he'll keep it up.

Instead of "will" I think the question should have been "should". We don't know what management will do but we know our own opinions on what they should do. The NBA especially is a league where coaches need to deal with and manage players even more than x's and o's sometimes. Vogel gets an A+ in this category. I will be very disappointed if he's not brought back and I can say this already. He has surprised me and I like the whole culture change even in the locker room. Hire the man today.

I still cannot believe he is doing things the way he is with all of the time he has spent under O'Brien. I am grateful for it, but I am still very surprised.

I still think we need to get into the playoffs and play well there for him to officially have the interim tag removed.

I think Bird will bring him back anyway just because of how much the players really like him and how well they're working under him.

Dan Dakich made a really good point. He said that a lot of times when you are an assistant and you are losing, you start thinking about things that you would do differently.

i said no. not until the end of this season. maybe that is some kind of too early to tell vote, but maybe not.

let's play out the rest of the season and visit the issue of the head coach this summer. it's not like another team is going to try to sweep in and sign him. there is just no rational reason [lots of emotional ones] to sign him for more than the rest of this season.

Vogel has an advantage. He's learned up close what not to do. Learning from mistakes is simply the best way to learn.

As for tonight, this is THE biggest game of the year and Vogel's career.

Why is today the biggest game of the year? This just seems like any other game to me.

It's big because it's a game the Pacers should lose. First, it's on a back-to-back on the road. Second, we won the previous day. Also, it's big because of circumstances. The Bucks burned us last time with a tip-in for the win.

Also, I think the question about whether this coaching change was merely window dressing will be answered tonight if we win. Miami didn't really answer it because we were expected to lose. Portland was too early to be a statement game. The rest of the teams we beat were at our level or below...and none were on the back side of a back to back on the road after winning the previous day.

Too early to tell, but he has a style that I really like. He's doing the things I have been wanting to see happen for years. I'm quite curious to see what he does with Rush now that he is nearly mended. I think we'll have a really athletic, tough squad if Rush responds positively. I think Vogel is the guy this team really needed right now. I'm so relieved that he doesn't share some of Jimmy Walnuts' peculiar tendencies to constantly "go small" or make the bigmen chuck 3s.

His mouth must have been in constant pain from grinding his teeth and biting his tongue from the things Jimmy was doing over the years.

I voted "Too early to tell, but I'm warming up to the idea more every game"

Im curious how he is going to do after a couple of losses. Im curious how he is gonna do when we have a couple of must wins. I really hope our players also get motivated by his enthousiasme after half a season and that it isnt a honeymoon thing.

I do know i like his optimism, his believe in our players, his believe in young players. I buy it. And when our players still buy it after this season, he can stay.

His basketball knowlegde is out of the question imo. That inbound pass to McBob in the dieing seconds still gives me goosebumps

Not this season, no. Bird has already talked about how the way has been paved for Simon to do whatever he wants by having everyone expire after this season.

I agree that it may be a feather in Franks cap, but it is hardly the biggest game of his career or season for the team.

As for the topic at hand, there is no need to rush the evaluation process. Heck, if Coach Frank finishes off the season at this type of clip... I have a hard time seeing him not being offered the position, but there is a lot of basketball to be played between now and the final buzzer of the season.

Just too early to tell... No need to buy now. I'm sure TPTB are getting a good test drive, kicking the tires and reving the engine. Almost like buying a car when you know that no one else is coming to buy.

Very true. Technically, he could be hired as the head coach next year, but never have the interim removed. It would just be a matter of his current contract expiring, and then being hired to a new position.

    I know, picky, picky, picky!
