Default NBA and Marvel announce apparel deal. What hero is best suited for the Pacers?

"LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Marvel Entertainment LLC and the National Basketball Association are teaming up to bring comics and basketball together.

The two companies will launch a new line of clothing at the NBA All-Star Game at Staples Center later this month.

It will include caps, T-shirts and sweatshirts of famous superheroes paired with NBA teams, such as Spider-Man and the New York Knicks or the Incredible Hulk and the Boston Celtics.

The line will eventually be sold nationwide. The companies also want to expand the line to include sporting goods."

With that said... What Marvel superhero is best suited to represent Pacer Pride?

I didn't really like how ESPN/Marvel portrayed us in their comic book cover season preview using Dr. Strange...

Here's a couple of suggestions I've come up with...

Quicksilver - We are the Pace(rs)...

X-Men (the whole team) - We play the consummate team game in a league dominated by solo acts and egos...

Hercules - Undervalued but does everything with heart. That's Pacer Pride right there.

I don't know it might be kind of cool. Anyone remember those monsters of the gridiron cards they had back in the day that Coca-Cola put out? I only remember Marshall Faulk being "The Missile", and some of the pictures from the cards but not who was on them. I thought those were pretty cool....of course I was probably 7 or 8 when those came out...man I feel old

Tyler's a little more cut out for Daredevil, imo. Josh could grow out his sideburns and be Wolverine. Vogel as Nick Fury. I'm gonna need a picture of Frank with an eyepatch.

Also, Granger was the only Pacer to play for Team USA. I think he'd be a better fit as Captain America.

Our arena, their arena, Rucker park, it just doesn't matter. We're bigger, longer, younger, faster, and hungrier.

    Here's a link for this: http://www.nba.com/2011/news/02/07/n....html?rss=true

I hope the teams get some input into this project so we don't end up with something as unexciting as the ESPN/Marvel cover.

The colors really match. If I choose a member an X-Men it would be Nightcrawler, b/c the team can see where it wants to go sometimes they teleport and play that way, sometimes they don't

[ignorant non-pacer fan] Shouldn't all those players in the hour glass be white?? LOL[ignorant non-pacer fan]

If it was '94 Venom would of been a good choice (with Reggie being "the enemy" and all)

If it was DC Flash could've worked (Flash...Pacers it seems to make sense)

The current Pacers and Marvel...I don't know. The only thing anyone really has in common is color scheme. Is that really enough?

The Watcher. He is the Big headed god dude wearing blue n Gold who hangs out in space watching cosmic events but he is sworn never to interfere, only to observe. Kind of reminds me of our media coverage or post season presence.

The Pacers franchise is one of the NBA's 'undesireables', so they'd definitely be X-Men, not Avengers/Fantastic Four.
