Low Price Beer Launched By Walgreens Has Some Worried

It's a beer that's as cheap as a can of soda. But it's low price and easy access has a local college group worried about a bigger cost.

It's called big flats 1901 beer. It's not only 50 cents a can but finding it is as easy as stopping by a drug store. Big flats 1901 is a new beer launched by Walgreens. They say it offers consumers a high quality beer for an affordable price. But local Morning side students promoting responsible drinking are worried that its low price and easy access could create problems.

"It's cheap so people are going to buy it in the first place and then if say they're on campus drinking and they run out they'll be like oh we can just go to walgreens and get a six pack for a few more dollars," said Katie Brannen.

The beer is available at both Walgreens on Pierce St. and Morningside Ave., which is not far from Morningside College. Although there are concerns about the beer, walgreens says they are thrilled to offer a good valued brew at their stores.

I picked some up on my way back to Indy through Ohio a week ago. For $3 for a sixer I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I'm a beer geek so I try just about everything I run across and I figured what the hell it couldn't be worse than Old Mil.

Natty Light is like $14 for a 30 rack, less than 50 cents a can.

Natty Light is nectar compared to some:

Grain belt was 99 cents a six pack for awhile in the....late 70s, I think? It's all a bit fuzzy.

The title of this thread is awful. Lowest Quality Story? I don't know. This thread should be titled "CHEAP BEER AT WALGREENS!!!" I'm not much of a beer drinker, but dang, for that price, I might become one.

Ok, I got the thread title changed, but I did not add "!!!!1111ONEONEELEVENTY" in my suggestion

And the wrestling clip is ridiculous. I wasn't sure if I should laugh or facepalm...lol
