Thread: Perkins Turns Down 30 mil Extension

Post Perkins Turns Down 30 mil Extension

Was on my phone app Espn scorecenter and saw this and this link was only thing I could find on it so if anyone can find more about it I would appreciate it!

I wouldn't mind having Perkins he plays hard and efficient. Kinda old school attitude on the court with his toughness and down to business persona. And to only be 26 and have 7 years under his belt and a ring, I think we might have found our replacement if we don't re sign him. Idk if he doesn't want to worry about his contract now or kno the celtics are almost done but i would take him jus not for 15+ a year!

We can't pay that much for a guy to back up Roy.

    Is 30mil

    http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/b...stonHerald.com)

According to two league sources, Perkins has already turned down a Celtics offer that is bound by the CBAs current restrictions a contract extension worth slightly less than $30 million over four years

I thought it was 30 million over 4 years?

Kendrick Perkins is a very important player to the Celtics and for their sake I hope he re-signs with them.

Seven mil a year seems kinda low for the second or third best defensive center in the league. The Celtics got away with low balling Rondo, I'd be amazed if they did the same to Perkins.

Depending on how the cap works out, he'd be great signing for Miami or OKC.

Maybe Miami needs to sign Dwight, Kobe and Durant too. Just cut the league down to 4 teams and shorten the season to a month.

I think he's a good player, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he is worth that price tag for what his role would be for the Pacers.

Yeah, I think he should be able to at least get 10 million per. Someone would pay him that much.

He would indeed be a great pickup for OKC. Maybe the piece they're missing.

He should go to Utah, OKC, or stay with Boston. He'd be a very good fit with Utah though IMO.

I could see that core winning a lot of championships if they added him.

I threw out Miami or OKC because Perkins has been on winning teams the last three years and I doubt he wants to go to a 30-win team now. I assume he'll re-sign with Boston but if he doesn't those are both viable destinations.

On both those teams he'd be able to play as he does now, as a power center next to a high post power forward (Bosh or Green).

I would love him here but he will want way too much money. Unless he turned it down because he wants out of Boston.

Perkins isn't even a double double guy and you think he should get atleast 10 million?

He's worth 7-8 million and thats being generous. Defense alone doesn't get you a ton of money in the NBA especially as a center.
