Donovan McNabb to work Super Bowl week for ESPN
    By Rick Maese
Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb is going to the Super Bowl. Well, he's going to Texas for Super Bowl week, but he'll be working for ESPN, not the Redskins.

McNabb will serve as a guest analyst next week for ESPN's coverage of Super Bowl XLV, providing his thoughts on the game, teams and players. The safe guess is that a Redskins question or three also might pop up.

"We're excited to have Donovan back on ESPN as a part of our Super Bowl coverage," said ESPN senior coordinating producer Stephanie Druley. "We worked with him in previous years and he always has strong opinions and great insights on the game, the teams and especially the quarterback position."

McNabb served in a similar role during ESPN's coverage of the Super Bowl XLIII two years ago in Tampa, Fla.

"I am really looking forward to working with ESPN at the Super Bowl," McNabb said in a statement released through his publicist. "I have done this for the past few years and really enjoy the opportunity to talk about the game. Believe me, I'd much rather be playing in the Super Bowl, but this is the next best thing. I love the game of football and am as big a fan as there is.

"I have a degree in communications from Syracuse and hope that this will be a stepping stone for the type of work I would like to do when my NFL career comes to an end."

McNabb can be seen next week from 3-4:30 p.m. ET Tuesday, on location in Texas with Tom Jackson, Mark Schlereth and Ron Jaworski. He'll also provide commentary on SportsCenter Wednesday night at 11 p.m. ET, alongside Cris Carter.

Everyone knows that when Donovan is done playing he will be on ESPN. He always been media savvy and has always given great interviews. I will enjoy seeing him on there.

Do you think he will have the stamina to do a job like this? He might have to get pulled in the last 2 minutes, especially if he does not have enough time to learn the new system

    It is called sarcasm.

Not that it matters. The Cowboys have so much talent they are just guaranteed to win the Superbowl in their brand new stadium, ala the Yankees.
