    Default granger to golden state

    ind receives:
    steph curry
    david lee

    gsw receives:
    danny granger
    tyler hansbrough

curious as to what you guys think. i think the pacers might have to add a protected 1st to this proposal to get the warriors to bite but i think it's relatively fair for both sides. curry plays too similar of a position as ellis and from what i've heard/seen, he doesn't seem untouchable. curry needs to get better at creating for himself and others, but that stroke of his is a pure as it gets. a curry/collison combo would indeed be very undersized, which is a concern, but it would also allow george or rush to slide over to the sf position.

tyler can certainly develop into a david lee but that is not guaranteed, and lee is only 2 years older. lee isn't exactly the defensive presence we are looking for at pf but he's a legitimate starting caliber 4 signed long-term at a very good deal. i think this trade would fill every starting position on our roster for the long haul and allow us to draft bpa, or even give us more trade options with collison being expendable if curry can develop at the one. either way, i like this for the simple fact that curry is young and a much better creator than granger with a better stroke:

    pg- collison
    sg- curry
    sf- george/rush
    pf- lee
    c- hibbert

curry is 2 small 2 guard 2's. that would be the worst defensive back court ever

true which is why i stated it could also open the possibility of trading collison if need be for a bigger 2g if curry develops into that role. i will say this though, the pistons starting backcourt of dumars/thomas was as small as it gets and yet they seemed to fair OK. good coaching with a stout defensive philosophy can mask perceived deficiencies.

Hmm.. I don't know. If we get Curry we'll have to end up moving one of either Collison or Curry down the line (probably Collison).

I don't know what to think about Lee. He's our ideal power forward offensively, but his defense isn't very sharp at all. Scola and West at least have the feistyness (Sp? ) going for them on defense.

Overall I think we can get better for Granger.

    I don't think it's a bad deal, but I'm leaning towards no.

Replace Curry with Monta and we'll talk

Yes he does. to everyone specially 2 GS. They would'nt trade Steph for Granger any ways he is pretty much untouchable. Monta could be had for the right price.

no, i was saying there's no way golden state would accept a deal if we asked for monta instead of curry. golden state and other teams value monta much more than they do curry. not sure how one could think differently.

2 1/2 years younger as ellis is only 25. ellis is averaging 26ppg if you didn't realize and his contract is very good considering his production. you can link me to all the stats you want but curry is only better in two categories, 3 point shooting and free throw shooting. but because curry rarely attacks the basket, he gets to the line far fewer than what ellis does. ellis is one of the best finishers in the game and arguably the best slasher in the game, unless you want to also classify wade as a slasher.

I asure u many teams would give up more for Curry than Monta. 9 mill is a big difference
