people have no patience it makes me laugh

now roy and danny are the players who need to be traded because they've been playing poorly
After all that we have been through in the past six years, please do not accuse us of being impatient considering that we've stuck around.

Danny isn't getting any younger, he can be had for a ridiculous young player and picks, and Roy is just terrible.

Look at the numbers for both players. They aren't getting it done.
We need better than solid. No JJ Redicks, Andray Blatche, Mike Dunleavy type guys to have big roles on our team.

If I wait long enough, they'll make the Pacers better than at least 2/3rds of the league? I doubt it. Not unless they become our 3rd and 4th best players.

I don't support trading Roy. I see Danny as a good trade asset because Paul George is going to fill his shoes and probably outgrow them.

But this is all about timing. Building a successful team in a small market is all about timing. You need to acquire enough talented pieces that peak at about the same time to compete with the LA's, Boston's etc. ..and that's the problem. Danny is simply going to be too old by the time Paul George is peaking. Instead, the idea is to acquire younger talent to grow with George and have many more years of success as they become veterans together.

Indiana is simply not a destination for anyone...and we are not going to be picking high in the draft without a move like this.

Why are people so eager to trade Danny?

I'm not saying he should be the best player on this team, but having another good player next to him would help.

Paul and Danny will be good to see in a wing lineup together.

kaman sucks, so for me this is granger for 2 1sts. idk, it's tempting. if this year's draft could produce a blake griffin/kevin durant type talent, yea i'd bite. but i just don't know. good proposal though.

Let's not make the same mistake as we did with Jermaine O'Neal and not recognize when it was time to move him. As Hibbert regresses, the JO trade looks worse. No question we could have had Lamar Odom and other pieces...
Same thing could have gone for Dunleavy at the end of the 07-08 season. I would read on the board everyday and read what Anthem had to say and couldn't help but think that a team that wants to contend would give us some very nice pieces.

    Sooo... Let's explore our options.

Next year seems to have some very tempting talent, and in the proposal we get an unprotected Minnesota pick for 2012.

if p jones, sullinger, irving, barnes, selby, williams all declare, i could possibly agree. my concern is with the tar heel and dookie though. barnes and irving have a great head on their shoulders and they wouldn't surprise me one bit if they both decided to come back. barnes struggling could play a factor into that as well.

if we were to do that deal while giving up granger, barnes is my #1 choice to replace danny even though i'd view irving as the best player in the draft. then we'd need to either fill our pf hole with the other pick or just take bpa. idk, there's just so much uncertainty right now.

Seriously it's stupid to trade Roy. Yeah he is getting pushed around in the post but I'm sure he is going to work on his lower body strength this offseason. He is one of the most determined and most hard working players I have seen. And I'm sure JOB's public critism doesn't help him mentally either. Once we get a new coach who actually has common sence it should help the players be more motivated.

In the game against the bulls, he also had 3 blocks and seven rebounds in just 20 minutes. It seems like the only thing people look at is points. The guy is still rebounding well with the 20 minutes per game he has been getting( couresy of JOB) and is still a blocking machine and good assists guy as a big man.

Its not like he is horrible in every category.

And if we trade roy . He is probably going to blow up and become a very good player with how he works in the offseason and without a coach who critizes him publically and benches him for most of the games.

And we got screwed because we didnt wait a season longer to possibly reach his full potential while he worked on his weaknesses this offseason and got a new coach who doesnt critisize players to the media.

and even through all this, we are a better team with roy on the floor
