Getty Images The NFL is adjusting its game plan before the Super Bowl with outdoor, standing-room tickets.

The tickets are similar to the Cowboys' Party Passes, but they won't be for inside Cowboys Stadium. "Party Plaza" ticket holders will pay to watch the game on a video screen outside, near the fan plaza area on the east side of the stadium.

"I think the weather is going to have an impact on people deciding to do that, but it's not going to be a great vantage point to watch the game," football fan Delwynn Sherrill said.

The three levels on either endzone that are used for Party Passes are already filled with temporary seating for the big game.

The city of Arlington and the NFL are developing the plan for fans who want to have a Super Bowl experience without the hefty price tag of a game ticket.

"If the NFL believes there's a market to provide people with the opportunity to enjoy the experience, we'll support that," said Trey Yelverton, deputy city manager.

The Party Plaza will have food and drink vendors and an entertainment stage, according to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy.

Party Plaza-ticket holders and game-ticket holders will also go through the same security measures, which include metal detectors, patdowns and bag checks, McCarthy said.

"I think it's a great opportunity to include as many people as possible in the event -- which doesn't come to the area every single year -- so that's what I about like it, and especially if that makes it more affordable," football fan Allison Harper said.

Details on how many Party Plaza tickets will be sold, how they'll be sold and what they will cost have not been ironed out yet.

It's no secret that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wants to break the Super Bowl's attendance record, but the NFL hasn't decided if the Party Plaza tickets will count toward official attendance.

McCarthy said the league and the city will likely finalize their plans for the Party Plaza within two weeks.
