    Default Seahawks make playoffs with 7-9 record

    3-7 in their last 10 games. Yikes.

    Three of the four games this weekend are hosted by the team with the lesser record, and the fourth is tied. However, I still agree with Dungy that seeding should stay as is.

    In the NBA, everybody plays everybody else, so it makes sense that homecourt should go to the team with the better record. But in the NFL, you play everyone in your division twice and more than half the league not at all. Winning your division means something, and you should be rewarded for it.

    Plus, at least this gives New Orleans a good shot at getting their first road playoff win. Don't know why that game in Miami last February doesn't count, though. They were the "road" team, right?

    Yes, damn it. I knew the minute the Colts weren't the road team the Saints were going to win.

    They're actually quite a bit worse than their record, believe it or not, and they might be one of the worst teams to ever enter a major professional sport playoff: http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes...ver/#more-4827

    People said the same thing about AZ the year they went to the Super Bowl. (Not that I think Seattle is nearly as good as AZ was that year.)

    All 9 of their losses were by 15+ points.

    @ Den: 14-31
    @ StL: 3-20
    @ Oak: 3-33
    NYG: 7-41
    @ NO: 19-34
    KC: 24-42
    @ SF: 21-40
    Atl: 18-34
    @TB: 15-38

    Their point differential of -97 was 28th in the league.

    No, that is just not right at all. Winning your division means something, which i think is an automatic playoff birth. But quite frankly Seattle does not deserve to host a playoff game. There is a reason Wild Card spots exist. Because there are stronger divisions than others. Let Seattle in the playoffs, but give NO that home game. The Saints could have had the number one seed if Atlanta lost, yet now they have to play on the road because Seattle won one of the weakest divisions in football of all time. That division is terrible and yet not one team could dominate it. They all suck and yet still get rewarded with the playoff spot and a home playoff game.
