Default A couple of interchangeable pieces for Varejao

    To Indy:
    Varejao
    Powe

    To Cleveland:
Tyler Hansbrough or Josh McRoberts (whoever CLE wants more doesn't matter to me, I'd imagine that'd be Hans though)
    1st rounder- lottery protected
Lance or Price (same thing as w/ Josh and Tyler
    Ford (expirer)

Sure, I love Price, Hans, and Josh to an extreme extent.. But truth be told these guys are just pieces and they come a dime a dozen. I'd rather keep Josh though over Hans because while he doesn't put up the stats and doesn't have the popularity, he's a bigger and better guy for us. Andy is a very good PF/C and if he's not starting, he's without a doubt the best 3rd big in the league, besides maybe Lamar Odom.

He'd make our defense even better than it is now.

We have to give to get and Cleveland is officially blowing their stuff up and they get two decent young pieces and a first for Varejao. If they get a better offer, which I'd imagine they can, then fine. I just know that this is a pretty fine offer, no homerism or w/e.

However, if they are looking to clear more space and won't do this offer here's plan B:

    To IND:
    Varejao
Sessions or Gibson (whoever they like less)

    To CLE:
    Hans or Josh
    TJ Ford
    1st

That way they drop more salary, get some pieces, and a first. In this case, we get our big, and we add some more salary but either way we get very good backup point guards.

    Here's Varejao's stats:

I can't help but think that maybe they get lowballed, but this is all I could come up with. Thoughts?

From what I've heard, Cleveland is more likely to add long-term salary in hopes of getting better immediately than going through with a firesale.

That would just be stupid though.

Outside of maybe JJ Hickson I don't really believe anyone on that team is worth a first round pick.

Exactly. They've made clear their strategy is to absorb unwanted contracts and pick up young prospects in the process, similar to what we did with Collison and Posey.

Which is not to say they won't trade Varejao for young prospects, which they will at some point I think, but our expiring contracts won't look particularly appealing to them.

I don't know why the Pacers can't get involve in a three way trade with the Wizards and Cavs. Cavs want Blatche, Pacers need Varejao, and Was seems to need anything minus John Wall.

    TJ
    Manny Harris

    To Cleveland:
    Blatche
    1st rounder from Indy

Does this sound okay?? We get Varejao and give up crappy TJ and a first, Cleveland gets Blatche and a first for Varejao, and Washington gets Blatche and his contract off the team and Manny Harris for a little sweetner.

This would actually be a better deal for us than before as well. I would think Washington just wants Blatche gone, and Cleveland is DESPERATE for a first scoring option. Plus they get a pick.

I would personally like to see at least one of the Jones added into it. I think getting rid of Solo would be real nice. Varejao can play C and PF. If a PF or C is not traded than the cluster buck would just be worse than it is now. Maybe a deal could be done without involving a first round pick. The pick Atlanta used for Hortford still stings a little bit.

Haha. There's just a BIIIIIIIIGGGGG difference between Horford and Law. Law is struggling to make rosters at this point. His great NCAA run at Texas A&M got him paid more than he should have at the NBA level at least.
