The Jaguars will be without at least one starter against the Houston Texans this weekend.
Quarterback David Garrard will have surgery on his right middle finger tomorrow.
Garrard first injured the finger by hitting it on the helmet of one of the Colts' defensive ends two weeks ago. He couldn't remember if it was Dwight Freeney or Robert Mathis.
The Jaguars have two other quarterbacks on their roster -- former Buffalo starter Trent Edwards and third quarterback Todd Bouman.
Until this year, Garrard was one of the most durable quarterbacks in the NFL. He started all 16 games in the past two seasons. This year, Garrard missed one start earlier at Kansas City after suffering a concussion against the Tennessee Titans on Oct. 18.
Garrard has a season quarterback rating of 90.8 but has had some tremendous games and some poor ones. His passer rating was below 65 in four of the six losses in which he played. He had ratings of 93.5 and 70 against the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins in the past two weeks.
Last weekend against the Redskins, Garrard threw an interception in overtime that put the Redskins in field goal range.
Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio will address this at his press conference at 1:45. Will have more for you then.
