Default Blast to the past: Favorite bench player?

So since there isn't much to talk about right now, I figured it'd be a nice healthy discussion to have.

I know that a lot of people are going to say Detlef, Tony, Derrick McKey, or maybe Byron Scott, but my favorite bench player was LaSalle Thompson.. Even though he wasn't all that.

I have no clue as to why, maybe it was my youth, but LaSalle just captured my attention and/or imagination to grow and love hard nosed play along with others like DD and the intensity that Larry Brown brought to all the players on the team.

Ever since that era I have grown to love hard fouls, tough play, talking **** to other players, and just grind-it-out play.. The Lakers/Celtics series in April was a dream for me.

I love hard nosed, scrappy players: Foster, Hans, McRoberts, Posey, and on other teams Kendrick Perkins, Matt Barnes, Varejao, Garnett, Shane Battier

    What about you guys?

While maybe not my favorite, will use this opportunity to pay homage to
    Greg Dreiling.

Very mechanical, not overly athletic, not very fast, but a big body you could
go to to clog things up in the middle and bang up some of the other reserve
centers of that era. For all his limitations, the guy tried and played with alot
    of heart.

Another guy I though was a pretty good reserve on a not so good Pacers team
    was Ron Anderson.

Edit: And if you want to go WAY back, I really liked Dave Robisch

Scot Pollard is also a big one for me.

Edit: Oh, and of course Dale Davis! I was just telling my friends the other day how when other kids wanted to 'be like Mike' growing up, I had no interest in that. I wanted to be like Dale.

Veteran Austin Croshere, the longest-tenured Pacers player on the roster, has proven reliable when called upon, invariably ready to step in regardless of the circumstance.

Dale Davis was a starter. Even when he came back Foster went to the bench and Dale Davis was the starter.

Dale Davis was also the finisher and made a mean creme brulee.

    In no particular order

    Byron Scott
    Kenny Williams
    Antonio Davis
    Scott Skiles
    Louis Orr
    George Johnson
    Clemon Johnson
    Josh McRoberts
    Tyler Hansbrough
    Jalen Rose

Actually if you put a gun to my head my favoriter was probably Clemon Johnson (not saying he was the best, I just really liked him as a player).

Welcome aboard 8.9! I'm going for a neck and neck tie between Byron Scott and Detlef Schrempf. Giving the nod to Byron Scott. Of the two, Det was my favorite player, but Byron was far, far more important to the team at a time when we were contending. If I had to form a top 3 faves, Eddie Johnson gets #3. He used to crack me up, still lighting up heads with that lethal, lightning quick jumper.

Not at all happy that I can't find a picture of Jamison Brewer in his white suit.

Really can't believe his Wikipedia page doesn't say anything about being known as SIGG.

Tyler's popularity around these parts is truly amazing for what little he has accomplished in the NBA. I must admit I like the way he plays the game though.
