Polian built this team just good enough to win 1 super bowl, and then he stopped caring. Stopped trying to improve. Stopped spending during the offseason, stopped searching for strong draft choices. He tried to ride Peyton's coat tails to a couple more super bowls without having to do anything himself. He hasn't made a single good decision since before 2006.

Maybe the Austin Collie pick...maybe. However, I think Austin and Peyton deserve more credit for making that work.

We aren't anywhere nearing being a championship contender.
This is the NFL, and we have one of the best QB's in NFL history.

Yes, this could be very easily fixed in one off season. This is a league where the KC Chiefs were much worse than us last year, and are now 8-4.

I just hope at the end of the season injuries aren't used as an excuse and instead are seen more as simply helping to expose some of the other weaknesses with the team.

And that is quite literally all we have...

The only guys I have any faith on being consistent next year are Addai, Peyton, Clark, and Wayne. Jeff Saturday is a corpse, I'm sorry. And Tamme has made me question just how good Clark is. Especially because Peyton has always been able to make tight ends look good even before Clark got here.

Freeney and Mathis look up and down and completely disappear unless we have a two TD lead. I used to like Power and Bethea in our secondary, but they've both been horribly inconsistent this season. I despise our linebackers. I couldn't think of a defense that is built more completely the opposite from the way Cowher likes to coach.

There is nothing to like about this team, at least the Chiefs had some young players to like last year like Charles and Bowe. Our best young player is Collie and he's clearly suffering from serious after effects from that concussion.

You have to completely rebuild the defense and the offensive line to make this a super bowl contender. How do you get those assets?

You're exaggerating. This sport more than any other is dependent upon the scheme that you run. I'd say if you can get some large run stuffing tackles on defense, and then a good replacement at LT on offense that alone will settle things down quite a bit. Combine that with changes to play calling and the schemes we run will make a huge difference.

You're worried about tackle on the offensive line?

We don't have a single good offensive guard on the entire team.

Our linebackers are woefully undersized. Everyone always blames our DTs, but our linebackers are awful.

But, ignoring all of this, I don't see Cowher getting along with Manning. Both of them are control freaks.

BTW, how about this year's first round pick, Jerry Hughes out of TCU? He's certainly been a gem of a pick...

And suddenly it's a game again. Played a horrible half, and still only down a FG 1 minute into the 2nd half.

Some of you guys make it sound like we're the worst team in the league and have no hope of ever coming back. Kinda silly. I'm disgusted as anyone with how we've been playing, but I have no delusions that we're ever out of a game in the 2nd quarter.
