If fatigue becomes a factor, what better time than to unleash a fresh Jeff Foster, D. Jones and maybe Lance? Even if this gives us a better chance at getting some guys some rest before the last road game of this swing...

    Spot on. I agree 100%

It will be interesting to see how Obie manages the substitutions to keep guys fresh

I think the key is both the start of the game and the start of the 3rd quarter

We cant fall behind early becasue it will be tough to get back to even with the intelligence Utah plays with and the fact we have played 4 games in 6 nights or whatever

Also after the half, we have to contain. One thing I freakin loved about last nights game was the way we stomped out of the gate in the thir quarter

This is what quality teams do, think back to years pasts and how are achillies heel was always comming out of halftime and getting blown out in the third quarter
Actually, what we don't wanna do is get a double digit lead at any point in time...

One thing the Jazz don't do well...rebound.

One thing the Pacers do extremely well...rebound.

I'm not expecting a win, but I won't be surprised if we pull it out. (TWSS)

Although Williams in the post vs. Collison/Ford could get ugly.
why dont the Jazz rebound well?

Is it because they lost Boozer? or becasue Memeht is out? or something else

I would imagine it's likely the fact that they don't have much after Milsap and Jefferson, but they're like 25th in the league in rebounding.

If your looking at raw rebounding numbers, I'd venture to say their pace has something to do with that. They're below the league average in pace.

Could be this as well. They're still very thin in the front court right now.

Is there any doubt that we are going to take a double digit lead in the 3rd quarter and then lose the game? We always get double digit 3rd quarter leads, the Jazz always fall behind by double digits in the 3rd quarter. We always blow the lead (but not always the game), and the Jazz always come back. I know this is going to happen, yet when it actually does happen, I will be furious.

To answer the question of the OP, yeah, if such a thing exists, this certainly qualifies as a schedule loss.

I really hope they start Gordon Hayward tonight and he gets a lot of minutes that could give us a chance to win

Yes. We seem to have a pretty deep bench. I'd hope that JOB utilizes it, especially during such a brutal stretch on the road.

While I do think it will be tougher to win, as long as JOB manages the substitutions properly there is no reason that this team should lose just because it is a back to back and 3rd game in 4 days on the road.

If they win this, I may have to be talked down a bit to reality. Won't be able to help myself.

To answer the question though, yes this is a schedule loss. My guess is they stay with Utah for 3 quarters or so and run out of gas. That's completely understandable.

What I hope is they have something left for Phoenix on Friday, that seems more winnable.
I was formulating a response in my head, saw Speed's note, and decided he captured it perfectly.

I don't know if it would necessarily be a "schedule loss", but it surely qualifies as a "convenient excuse loss". Most do.

Yeah.....it's going to be like those flashbacks of 3 years ago seeing Kirk Hinrich continually Post-Up Travis "The Ballboy" Diener in the paint.

I still get nightmares about that from time to time....

We have no chance then... Schedule loss... 'convenient excuse loss' and finally and obviously there's the Jim O'Brien's fault loss....
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

I'll be impressed if we win, but I won't be going off the deep end.

You can't play your way into the playoffs in December, but you can definitely play your way out of them.

I just hate the idea of of a schedule loss. This is one more reason why I firmly believe the 82 game season should be shortened. Whats the point of having a longer season if a portion of the games will be pointless anyways because one of the teams is too tired to play. Oh yeah I know the point: $$$.

At least not for good teams. In years past we would fold. Tonight is going to tell us alot about who we really are as a team. If we can win then we may be the most dangerous sleeper team in the NBA. Utah matches up with us very well so I expect it to a good game, altough I wouldn't mind another 50 point quarter lol
