    Second game of a back-to-back and third game in four nights, all on the road. Sounds like a "schedule loss" to me...if you believe in such things, of course.

    As close to one as there can be. Utah is a very good team as well. Might be different if we were playing a bad team.

    As a fan I don't expect to win this game, but I don't think it's impossible.

    It would be a very tough game in the best of circumstances. In these circumstances, it's going to require a sublime effort.

    If they win this, I may have to be talked down a bit to reality. Won't be able to help myself.

    To answer the question though, yes this is a schedule loss. My guess is they stay with Utah for 3 quarters or so and run out of gas. That's completely understandable.

    What I hope is they have something left for Phoenix on Friday, that seems more winnable.

    My rampant skepticism is slowly turning into untethered optimism, and I would be on that same cloud if we win these next two games.

    I was formulating a response in my head, saw Speed's note, and decided he captured it perfectly.

    Is Danny out with the flu? Might be good to see PG get some run with the second unit.

    Did you hear that he is? That would pretty much seal the deal.

    Even if Danny is 100% this game is going to be really hard to win. If we pull it off though, they gotta put the Pacers in the top 5 for the next power rankings

    If fatigue becomes a factor, what better time than to unleash a fresh Jeff Foster, D. Jones and maybe Lance? Even if this gives us a better chance at getting some guys some rest before the last road game of this swing...

    Spot on. I agree 100%

    It will be interesting to see how Obie manages the substitutions to keep guys fresh

    Yes. We seem to have a pretty deep bench. I'd hope that JOB utilizes it, especially during such a brutal stretch on the road.

    Well, on paper and surely watching the highlight reels the Jazz are a better team. I'm not going to call it a loss since the game hasn't finished yet.

    All I can say is that it's going to be a tough challenge.

    Here's to the best.

    I expect to see some Dahntay tonight. That's my answer to the OP's question.

    If we lose it certainly isn't worth the diving off the bandwagon that will likely happen.

    Now, if we win, the wagon won't be big enough.

    Yep. I suspect we won't win because of the minutes Danny played last night + Danny's flu + the scheduling context.

    On the other hand I'm also not anticipating a definite loss - I might be a little surprised if we win given the circumstances, but not shocked. This is a nice change.

    It probably is, but I will still let it ruin my night if we lose. I can't help it.

    If there is such a thing, yes, I think this qualifies.

    * A very good team
    * Opposite coast (sort of)
    * Back to back
    * 3rd game in 4 nights
    * Utah last played at home, two days ago

    Aren't they at somewhat of a higher elevation there, too? I know that's usually a Denver trait, but I thought I remembered that Salt Lake City is a bit up there, too.

    I'd be stunned if we win this one.

    I think it is and I'm afraid the players might feel the same way. I think they might just take the night off and be ready to play in Phoenix Friday. I would probably take the 8.5 points though.
    Here we come lottery?

    I don't think this team would do that. The younger the team the more likely they are to play the game in front of and behind them, meaning they would get hyped after a win to try for a win and down after a loss.

    The coach, on the other hand, might well decide to try to save Danny and some others for Friday, but that hasn't been his pattern in the past so I doubt it will happen unless the game goes out of reach.

    All I know is that, nowadays, anything is possible with this team.

    But we are still going to be gassed and tired.

    Little tidbit: The Jazz are on the second night of a back-to-back as well.

    So it could go either way, but we are going to be tired.
    I'm pretty sure they played at home on Monday. Not last night (Tuesday).

    Sometimes a "schedule loss" doesn't happen until the "next game" or even the game after that. So we have a schedule loss coming up, might be tonight, could be Friday - the last game of a road trip is typically the toughest - but also beware of the first game back home - teams tend to relax after a long road trip

    Right. That game is against a bad team (Toronto), too. Could easily be a big let down.
