I just don't understand why it has to be a Tampa-2 style defense? Why can't we model our defense after the Steelers or the Jets? Watching our zone defense makes me want to throw up sometimes because they leave players wide open by about 10-15 yards sometimes. The Colts almost never break up a pass over the middle because the receiver is always open by at least 5 yards.

Yeah I really am tired of watching the Tampa-2 defense.

I think part of the problem is the talent level of the Colt's defensive players. It is lacking in a lot of areas.

Still though I am tired of watching no name running backs make a name for themselves against the Colts. I'm tired of the only turnovers being the sack-fumble by Dwight Freeney.

Here is an article about the Tampa 2 era being over in the NFL.

I think a lot of this is true. If you have the right players I think the Tampa 2 can work but it's very difficult to find those players and the Colts certainly don't have them.

The Colts are a .500 team right now. They could have easily been that last year except somehow this team pulled wins out of nowhere. Remember watching this defense vs. Miami last year?

I almost am hoping the Colts don't make the playoffs this year at least if that means they make some big changes...new coaching staff and more talent but I doubt that will happen.

I sure wouldn't mind Jeff Fisher being the coach next year. He will scratch, claw, nag, and fight for his team to win.
And the walls came tumbling down.....

Sorry, I think Fisher is way out of touch. In the first half against the Texans he gave Chris Johnson four carries and let Rusty Smith chuck them into oblivion.

Because its the Dungy way and Caldwell the handpicked disciple is a Dungy clone but not nearly as experienced(obviously).

I thought when Dungy retired we'd get something new as far as a defense but who was I kidding?

Yes, I understand all that...but there are a lot of people here who actually don't. The Lakers and USC seem to be directly connected to their egos (Notre Dame beating USC was a good thing as well, though I'm not the hugest ND fan).
That was the only highlight of my weekend being a Purdue alum and watching them lose to IU (however I go to IUPUI so I wasn't that outraged) wasn't pleasant.

I grew up an ND fan first.
