Got sloppy at the end, but we took care of business.

Team was clearly gassed in the 4th from the effort the past two games. Smart to coast it home and not risk an injury as they got tired. Cavs don't have the offensive firepower to be a threat once they get down 20+.

Should we be concerned about Roy Hibbert's play in two straight games with no solid competition at the center spot?

I was glad we weren't Cleveland last year.

Next up the Thunder and a real test of the Pacers defense.

7-6. DC, Rush, and Danny played good.

The only thing that has me worried is how Roy has been playing. He's been playing like crap; getting in foul trouble, not scoring, not getting to the line, not rebounding. He's only 23 though. I guess that is what you have to expect from such a young player.

As Stacy said, it is really nice to see Rush grow like this. He's looking like a beast right now. If he can continue to stay hungry no one really knows what his ceiling is. This goes for the whole team as well. It is really awesome to see us get more talented.

One more thing. After that second half, it's pretty obvious that Josh does a lot of things that make us go. Once he went out, we didn't execute nearly as well. Especially when both DC and Josh were out of the game.

I can't wait to see Danny on Durant Friday. Should be a pretty good game. Russell Westbrook is having a ridiculous year too.

Not when you win big both times.
We haven't needed him because other guys are stepping up and having big games.
    That's nothing but good.

    First a somewhat off-topic bit:

I don't want or need for this to become a big discussion - hell, I don't even need anyone to respond - but I have an observation and a request. I've noticed in the last several game threads an increase in the "We are raping team x," and "Josh got raped by opposing player x" talk. It bothers me to see this casually thrown about and I suspect I am not the only one. I'd like it if those of you who are inclined to post this way reconsider doing so in the future.

    Now the game:

Very fun to watch a great defensive effort two games in a row (I know we let up in the 4th quarter but we went deeper into the bench and some of our guys looked gassed). The offense will come and go but I like our chances of hanging with teams night in and out when we play this kind of defense. Kudos to Danny and Brandon for setting the tone on that end of the floor.

I'm a little concerned about the big fella but when most everyone else is clicking we can afford to give the young guy room for a bad stretch. I hope that headache isn't more than a headache.

Impressive win, regardless how bad Cleveland maybe.

Coming off a monster win down in Miami, it's NBA nature for teams to have big let downs. It happens all the time and we didn't let it happen to night.

I feel like Josh really showed his worth to the team tonight in the first half. When he plays like that I really feel perfectly ok with what we are getting out of the PF spot. He isn't a starter on most teams but he is a really good FIT for this team. He brings a lot of defensive energy and really works very well in our motion offense.

Hansbrough started the second half and while I thought he played well individually (love his toughness), I thought the ball movement suffered and the overall team defense was less suffocating with him on the floor.

Certain posters (cough *Unclebuck*) who supposedly love hustle players seem to give Josh zero credit for his defensive hustle. He is constantly getting into the passing lanes, blocking/altering shots, and tipping out offensive boards. They kept showing a montage of the great defensive play in the first half and Josh was involved in probably 75% of the plays.

He had a pretty crappy stretch a few games ago and it was good to see him bounce back. Its good to see a young player hit a slump and recover, and I give credit to Jim for sticking with him. The team chemistry has been excellent lately.

Oh yea, only really one negative tonight.

TJ Ford was TERRIBLE. He is so up and down game to game it kills me. I really hope we get him traded by the deadline. Really looking forward to the Collison/Price rotation.

Amazing how much things have changed in regards to the Point Guard talent on this team from a few seasons ago though.

It would make sense to put him on Westbrook and stick our PG on the offensively challenged Thabo Sefolosha.

I was at the game tonight, it was so awesome to see the crowd into it like they were. Typically they get up for the Orlando's and Boston's and when you go see the Clevelands or the Toronto's of the league the crowd could care less sometimes.

I wished we wouldn't have given up so much ground in the 4th. JOB played a very young line up there in the 4th to close out the game and they looked terrible. For those who say play the young guys....well Exhibit A. I'm glad we have some solid Vets on this team.

    gummy for President.
Welcome to Pacers Digest! New around here? Here are three tips for making the forum a great place to talk about Pacers basketball.

    • Log in. Even if you want to read instead of post, it's helpful because it lets you:
    • Change your signature options. You can hide all signatures by choosing "Settings" (top right) then "General Settings" (middle left) and unchecking the box "Show Signatures" (in the "Thread Display Options" area).
    • Create an ignore list. I know it may seem unneighborly. But you're here to talk about the Pacers, not argue with someone who's just looking for an argument. Most of the regular users on here make use (at least occasionally) of the "Ignore" feature. Just go to "Settings" -> "Edit Ignore List" and add the names.

    Enjoy your time at PD!

    Awesome win.

I wish I could have heard area 55 more often. I heard you guys once, but it was brief (Maybe in the 2nd quarter)

Awesome to seem the crowd into the game

Yeah Rush should play Westbrook late in the game if it is close

I'm surprised some of you aren't happy with Roy. I thought his defense tonight was outstanding, really good, he had a huge impact.

Dunleavy also had several great team defensive plays.

Ford struggled in the first half, so O'Brien only played him 4 minutes
