Yeah just saw that... No IU recruits listed in the 2013 rankings... oh yeah Willis is the 4th tallest guy in his class... I think he could end up being a player that declares early and jumping to the draft... can't remember any purdue players ever doing that... although a few had a chance.

I don't know if it means anything. It's being spun that Smotherman Jr. is transferring to Lawrence North, or to North Central, but I would have no idea.
Per his tweet, Smotherman Jr. will be attending Lawrence North next year.

Is that good, bad, or neutral for Purdue?

Some believe that longtime Lawrence North coach Jack Keefer is "anti-Purdue" but I don't know that there's any validity to that. Even if so, I doubt it would have much affect on Smotherman's verbal to Purdue. I like the way one poster put it on another forum - Keefer is not anti-Purdue or anti-IU so much as he is pro-Jack Keefer.

For me personally, this will mean that I root for Lawrence North a lot more than I'm accustomed to, and a lot less for Heritage Christian.

This is exactly what I was going to say, more or less. Sounds like he may be more of "the guy" there next year and play against better players.

    I would say positive.

I think playing for LN should be better for him in the long run, I think think the competition should increase by moving to this conference and level... hopefully he will get some of that aggression to his game that hi is missing, and learn to play other roles on the team.

Hey u guys should checkout this chat that was done by the Rivals rankers specifically about the 2013 recruiting class, there is a decent amount about purdue in there as well as some IU, Willis talk, basil talk, ferrel talk, mcgary talk...

    hope u enjoy

At least Smotherman actually lives in LN's area. Keefer is such a notorious recruiter it is freaking ridiculous.

Yeah, Keefer is an institution, he gets away with murder because he's so old and crotchety and full of himself, no one wants to cross him.

So uh . . . when do we switch from the 2010-2011 thread to the 2011-2012 thread? Does it make the season come any sooner?

Bade to switch to football? From Brian Neubert of blackandgold.com
If all goes as expected, junior Patrick Bade will leave #Purdue basketball team and join #Boilermakers football team. Not finalized yet.

    Uh, okay.

USC, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame were all giving (Bade) interest to play football.
Then what the **** is he doing playing basketball?

lol...poor bade not only gets creaned but is sent to get his *** kicked on the football field...this is what we call adding injury to insult...

...and the squad is still oversigned by one for 2013-4, so this doesn't help in the long term...

"Showing interest" is a pretty generous term. Scout had em as a 2 star TE with no actual football offers. Maybe some interest in having him walk on or something.

Interesting . . . Purdue 2012 recruit Jay Simpson, 6'8", 240 lbs. out of Champaign Central HS (Champaign, IL) will be attending La Lumiere Prep Academy in LaPorte for his senior season. There, he will be teammates with . . . Hanner Perea.

That should allow Parea to focus on the PF position, and help Jay with his post game down low.. Hopefully Jay will steal some of Hanners athleticism, Jay moves good for a big guy but Hanner is a beast.

I hope Jay grows atleast 2 more inches by the way...

La Lumiere seems to be bringing in a ton of D1 recruits the last couple years. I'd never even heard of them before Marcius. What's the deal there, did they get a new coach/AD that want the publicity or something? Do they even play anyone, they're a private school so they're not part of the IHSAA right?
