Dakich called in to his own radio show today, which was being hosted by Mad Dog, and said that Barlow and Smith got into a fight, which left Smith concussed.

Ryne got elbowed in practice, but is ok. Hart hurt his foot again, but may be alright. Barlow is of course out.

Question for Boiler fans: How good do you guys think you will be without Moore and Johnson next year, knowing that Hummel's health is a complete wildcard? What are your expectations? I'm interested.
It was difficult to answer this earlier; now with the status of Barlow in question, it's even more difficult.

I'll try a little bit later though.

I don't think losing Barlow would hurt you guys at all. He's a dime a dozen type player. I'm totally unimpressed every time I see him play. It might hurt int he immediate future just from a rotation stand point, but long term? Nah.

I don't think it will be a terrible loss, but it will hurt. We definitely lose depth and a versatile and talented defender. We have 7 guys, Bade and Hart. Hart is hurt, and Bade is Bade.

I'm not surprised Purdue is a major tease great in the regular season but in March you know this is how it usually ends.

    I guess Butler/ND are all that's left I guess.

I'm shocked by that game, I really am. I'm delighted, thrilled, and ecstatic, but shocked. Robbie Hummel crying on national television brought forth a round of hearty laughter and smiles out of my circle of friends. I mean...what the hell happened? Defense was absolutely, positively atrocious. The only guy who looked halfway decent was Ryne Smith. Did not look like a Matt Painter coached team.

Purdue blew a great opportunity this year. The Golden Era of Purdue basketball ends with a massive thud.

Am I laughing because the guy got hurt? No. Am I laughing at him crying about his injury? No. I'm laughing because it's not even over for him--he's still got another year at Purdue. And because I hate Purdue and I have to find joy in their losing because my Hoosiers are a hot mess.

I told Kegboy this thread was going to be full of a bunch of IU making fun of Purdue for getting blown out in the second round (or whatever they're calling it now) of the NCAA tournament. Can someone please remind we what IU as been doing the last week? Oh yeah that's it...nothing.

Next person who says something about IU's banners gets put on my ignore list...if you aren't already there.

Butler is the only dependable Indiana team it seems like.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

What a massive failure. And now it look s.like they would have had a 10 seed to play for a final 8 birth.

Does Painter catch any criticism for this?

He should. If your team allows 94 points against VCU, then yes, you deserve some criticism I think. These were the golden years of Purdue basketball but when all is said and done they just have two sweet 16's and tonight blew what was by far their best shot at an Elite 8 if not a Final Four. They've had some nice seasons, but not making an Elite 8 with the hype these teams have generated is falling a bit short.

yes, but what they mostly "couldn't miss" were layups...
