By beating the Wizards....the Bulls have QUIETLY taken over as the Eastern Conference Team with the best record. They are 1/2 games ahead of the Celtics in the East.

Am I the only one that is surprised that they are doing so well?

They have quietly sneaked into the 1st Place in the East and barely anyone recognizes that. Props to Thibodeau for getting this team to where they are now.

I really hope that the Heat really turn it up now...cuz I would much rather play the Heat then the Bulls or the Celtics in the 1st round.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

All I have to say is, I would much rather play the Celtics in the first round rather than the Bulls. We size up better against the Celtics. A healthy Boozer and Noah would be a nightmare for us. Yes I know of the Celtics depth and size when they're at full health, but we stand much more of a chance against the C's the Bulls. However, I guess we'll see what Frankie can do against the Bulls with the new rejuvenated P's considering it's our first meeting with them under coach FV.

At the time, I thought Boozer was an outstanding signing who fits their needs perfectly. They had a much more complete team than the Heat, who I never thought would challenge this year. Thibs certainly deserves COY consideration. Moreover, I thought minor-to-moderate injuries among the Celtics' aging veterans would prevent them from having the top seed. In full disclosure, however, I noted how far Orlando was over the cap, and thus predicted that they would make appropriate moves to improve their squad and secure the top seed.

Just so I don't blabber using only 20-20 hindsight, though, I am predicting the Celtics to make it to the finals ... where they'll succomb to someone other than the Lakers. (I'm rooting for OKC, but methinks it may be a Texas team this year.)

Bobcats have a tough roadtrip coming up. Spurs, Rockets, Thunder, and then they play us.

Bobkitties lose! We stay a half game up on the 8th seed. Hopefully the Magic can hold on in OT as well

After seeing the bulls play in person back in January, I declared them as the best coached team in the NBA and they have only gotten better since then

Yeah they are a team, unlike Miami and New York that only have few pieces, Chicago is going to be a hard team to beat, they have everything, that is how I hope the Pacers build their team.

****ed up stat of the night: Rodney Stuckey became the first NBA player in 4 years to get 10 assists before attempting his first shot (he finished with 14).

The last guy to do it? Jamaal Tinsley.

Yeah but there's nothing unusual about that. I expect him to put up plenty more 20/10/5 games in the future.

I was thinking how we had a 20-point comeback against Minnesota on the last day of the season last year that cost us the #2 pick (we would have been awarded the lottery numbers that Philly wound up with), and that turned into a blessing in disguise. We would have wound up with Favors or Cousins, and right now I'd rather have Monroe than either of them.

Totally random but wondered if anyone else remembered this from a couple years ago. Don't know why but I thought about it today and laughed all over again after reading it again. Thread about an interview Kenny Smith had with JOB.

Ha! What did you expect Phildog? This:

Kenny Smith: And now I'm joined by Coach Jim O'Brien...Coach, how are you?

JOB: (slumped in chair, disheveled) I long for the sweet release that death will bring.

KS: Uh...well. Let's talk about the Strengths of the Team. What do the Indiana Pacers bring to the table?

JOB: That's a good question. What do we bring to the table? (shrugs) Lack of hustle. Matador defense. Poor fundamentals. (reaches in pocket, pulls out a flask) You don't mind if I drink, do you?

    KS: Uh...

JOB: Our players got good mustaches though. Damn good mustaches (shakes head and mutters to self)

KS: (Looks off camera, leafs through his notes) Well...let's talk about Danny Granger. He's having an all star year, what has he meant to the team?

JOB: If I didn't have Danny Granger I would kill myself (takes another drink out of flask)

KS: (starting to sweat) Larry Bird has been...

JOB: Larry Bird! Let's talk about Larry %$#@ Bird, shall we? Let's talk about the promises he made to me - like, "Oh, I'm going to get you a point guard this year," or "Dunleavy's fine, he just has some tendinitis, that's all." Let's talk about that for one %$# minute, huh Kenny?

KS: I think maybe we're done here. Thanks very much, Coach.

JOB: I'm in hell. (takes off tie, throws it in fireplace)

*** Actually, now that I think about it, that would be pretty awesome.

And so New York changes it's starting line-up once again. Mike D'Antoni is reminding me more and more of Jim O'Brien every day. Jim O'Brien with less defense. It's so much better seeing New York dealing with this than the Pacers.

think there is any chance the pacers can catch the knicks????

they look like a team that has just given up. or more accurately a team that doesn't care where they fall in the playoff hunt because they can't beat anyone above them anyway.

who would guess that getting carmello anthony killed them off.

Not surprising, the Knicks bench stinks. They gave up WAY too much for Melo in terms of proven talent. Shawne Williams and Toney Douglas can hit the 3 off the bench, if those 2 aren't hitting their shots, the Knicks are in a lot in Melo or Amare are in foul trouble, or doesn't have it going. Billups is still a veteran, but he has lost it a bit.

Bucks are 1.5 back if they get this win, I expect the Knicks to make it closer, but the Bucks are going to make a run at the end of this season, Pacers won't be able to back into the playoffs, they'll have to win games
