I find myself rooting for Denver after the whole Carmelo thing.

I really hope they get to the playoffs and upset some people while we pass New York in the standings and they get whipped in the first round.

    Yeah me too.

I watched that Knicks game last night...I'm really not so certain that Carmelo is a great fit there with Amare. Melo has an absurdly high usage rate and both of them need the ball in their hands a lot. I actually think Deron Williams would have been a much better fit.

How did I know you were going to say that?

It's hardly the same thing, because we never really had a chance to get him, but I agree with you about Nene or Varejao. I'd really like either one of those guys.

I know that Melo is an all star but he to me was too much of a black hole for Denver not letting the other guys to get involve, I'm expecting a better team effort now.

Danny Ainge must have thought that the best way to beat the Lakers was to have Oklahoma City do it for them.

One of the most absurd flops I've ever seen. I'd give him a 10-game suspension for it.

Holy crap... Did anyone just hear about the Piston's vets protesting and not showing up at shootaround because of Kuester? Just saw it on ESPN.. Had to stay home today because I'm sick. Crazy.

I was thinking that too. He's got an attitude, and definitely fits into the blue collar approach that we have been taking lately. If we could get him for a reasonable price I would be happy with Kenyon Martin.

I know he has all those crazy tattoos but he brings defense and hustle every single night, he could be a nice piece for the second unit.

They're a disgrace, the lot of them. Fire the entire damn team, if only to keep them from poisoning Monroe.

Really, suspend all 5 of them and replace them with NBDL guys. I don't care.

Has he had any off the court problems? I know he gets his fair share of technicals, but I don't mind that.

Who were the five guys again? I remember Rip and Wilcox were mentioned but I can't remember the other three.

Rip, Prince, Wilcox, Ben Wallace and McGrady.

3/5 of a championship core. Disgraceful.

I get that Kuester is clueless. I really do. But this is not the way to go about doing it, particularly those three. They've been back-stabbing coaches for so many years now, they've lost their credibility.

Craziness.. They got to do something now even though the ownership deal is all messed up right? At the very least fire Kuester or waive the five vets right?

I know it's hard with the ownership issues, but what do they do?

Nothing's going to happen unless Karen Davidson says it will, and she won't move until she runs it by Tom Gores first.

Best case scenario is Gores finalizes the sale and goes into the locker room with a paint-ball gun, Ari Gold style.

Pistons protest? Five veteran players miss morning practice
Vincent Goodwill / The Detroit News

Philadelphia— A day after the trade deadline passed, half the Pistons players missed Friday morning's shootaround in what a team source called a "player protest."

Tracy McGrady, Tayshaun Prince, Richard Hamilton and Chris Wilcox did not show up to Friday's morning shootaround. Ben Wallace also wasn't present, but has been dealing with an ongoing family matter for the past several weeks.

Austin Daye and Rodney Stuckey showed up as shootaround ended, after the media was let in. They missed the team bus from the hotel to shootaround.

Various Pistons players have had their share of issues with coach John Kuester this season, and many have been vocal — privately and publicly — in their criticism of the second-year coach.

According to team spokesman Cletus Lewis, McGrady was out with a headache, Prince had the stomach flu, while Wilcox and Hamilton apparently missed the bus without a reason. A team source confirmed Prince's and McGrady's illnesses, adding Wilcox overslept.

Kuester was unsure about how he might proceed for the team's 7 p.m. game Friday night against the 76ers.

"We have some things … some excuses, not excuses, absences because of headaches and stuff like that," Kuester said. "We'll go with this group right now."

Only Charlie Villanueva, Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum, Ben Gordon, Greg Monroe and DaJuan Summers were present and fully participated. Jonas Jerebko also was there, doing his usual rehab workouts.

The players have not been happy with their coach, seemingly all season, for the way he communicates, among other reasons they've given.

Kuester said the lineups will be evaluated before gametime Friday night. Kuester deflected direct questions about what was going on with his team.

"We'll go with the group that was here. We have a number of guys who have that bug," Kuester said. "These guys went through shootaround the way they were supposed to."

Kenyon Martin clearly is not a Starting PF....we already have our Starting Center ( Hibbert ) ....and we already have our backup PF ( Hansbrough )...so that leaves our need to fill the Backup Center spot ( currently occupied by Foster ) and the need for additional PF and/or Center depth to play behind our Starting PF, Hibbert, Hansbrough and whoever the Backup Center would be.

The question is...can he play Center and next to Hansbrough?

If not, then the question is whether he would be happy playing the role of Solo....or basically the 1st Big Man to fill in for someone that gets injured.

    My guess is not.

The Pistons couldn't stage this walk out ( and likely subsequent suspensions ) a week or two ago when we played them twice in a row?
