I see Dunleavy stepping up big time and returning to 07-08 form

Rush fades into our bench never to return

George comes out and by mid season is getting solid bench minutes

Hibbert absolutely freaks out and becomes a stud (17/10/3 consistently kinda thing)

Collison will start off super slow but by game 15-20ish will step into the role we have been hoping he will

Posey is going to win us (or hold onto a win) at least 2-3 games in the final minutes

Price will be a serviceable backup

Our obsession with McBob will diminish once we see him play real big men in real
    games

Tyler isn't going to play much until 20-30 games into the season but I see him having a larger impact then expected

Granger will play 70+ games and drop 25+ a game

I don't normally do this, but I've been a silent lurker watchin' this team this off-season and I'm goin off gut feel.

I think our starting 5 is better than people give credit for. I like Collison in most matchups, I like Granger in most matchups, I like Hibbert in most matchups... at SG, whoever we decide is gonna play will keep the course par, whether it's Dunleavy or Rush or George (and who knows what happens with George if he continues to develop). At PF is the only position we get out-matched at, but... that might not be as bad as we think. Every team has a weak spot. They match-up favorable with most teams. The bench has some talent at every position except center (especially if Foster gets injured again). Assuming our bench PF is Hansbrough, that's not a bad PF for your second team. There will be some growing pains at the beginning, and then I think they'll get hot down the stretch.

Assuming health (which isn't a good assumption, I know), I think they could surprise.

There are two types of quarterbacks in the league: Those whom over time, the league figures out ... and those who figure out the league.

I'm not sure, this team has so many variables.

I think they could go 25-57

But I think they could also be .500

Depends on a lot of things, but I'll take the middle ground and say 35-47

You know, you (and others) keep saying this, but the thing is we have seen him play "real big men in real games," and he has never not, at least, held his own.

I don't think anybody is obsessed, but there is definitely the potential for him to be a positive at his position from previous seasons. I think you're going to be wrong.

30 wins unless we fire JOB then maybe 37. If we had a proven PF i could say we win 43 but we dont

    7th or 8th seed.

I really don't understand how anyone thinks we can be worse than last year (aka any win prediction under 32) ...unless you truly believe Troy Murphy was helping us win games. Getting rid of Murphy is the best thing to happen to this franchise in a long time.

I don't think this team has any chance of finishing at .500. Too great of an improvement needed and I'm not sure we fixed what's really broken with the team to add that many games.

Had we stood relatively pat I was thinking we'd be looking at challenging for the franchise record in losses this season. But fortunately, we didn't do that and so have some changes in place to ease the chance of going down that road.

I still don't think we're going to set the world on fire as long as you know who is coaching. I think there's a very good chance this season will look a lot like last season in the W/L column with a marginal improvement heading into the last games of the season... where we'll again steal some wins against teams who'll be thinking about the off season or playoffs instead of the Pacers.

37 wins seems about right as for what we should expect all things considered if things go really well (we can hope for much more of course)... And that makes some assumptions about utilizing players better than we've seen in the past (which I can't really say I 100% think will happen) and not being bitten by the injury bug. But if O'Brien ultimately doesn't change his stripes (regardless of our talent/team) then look for a 24 game win pace for most of the season and then stealing a few meaningless games at the end of the season to barely touch/eclipse the 30 game win barrier.

Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.

So how many people's heads will explode if they go 0-82 and then lose the lottery, ending up with the 4th pick?
Still better than the 10th pick. Next years draft has 5-7 studs so we would be fine.

44 - 38. I think we end up surprising a lot of people and if hibbert continues to get better and george continues to get better this could be a really special year. I am gonna dream a little bit and say we will be competing to win the central division this year .

So the 4th pick is better than the 10th pick, for sure?

Wesley Johnson (4th pick) < Paul George (10th pick)

I believe what our young friend was trying to say is, having the 4th pick is better than having the 10th pick.

    Hard to argue with that.

If we end up winning 44 games, Jim will be coach of the year. Which means Jim will get a new 3 year extension.

I believe I predicted 38-44 last season, but I'll wait until the start of the season just in case Bird pulls trade out of his magican's hat or maybe picks up a b/u center from players cut. I want to see what the final roster looks like b4 making a prediction.

I really, really want to believe 41-41, but I'm not 100% convinced.

    So I'll say 36-46.
