I can't believe that only 3% of the people agree with me that the Pacers are going to win the Central Division.

They are all idiots, I tell you. Idiots.

What are the odds that some talking point that we here on PD have discussed ends up being repeated by the Moderator?

    My guess is probably high.....

PD is a proverbial fountain of knowledge for everything Pacers

I'm interested if they know of any trade rumors.

Other than that we're probably aware of anything they're going to say.

    Comment From Team Pacers
    Time for the Pacers!
    2:59

Zach Harper (Cowbell Kingdom/TrueHoop Network): Who isn't excited about the Pacers this year?
    2:59
    Comment From Thunder Matt
Darren Collison is going to be great starting in Indiana!
    3:00
    Comment From Mike
Pacers 8 seed? i see it..
    3:00

Zach Harper (Cowbell Kingdom/TrueHoop Network): POLL TIME!
    3:00

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Hey all. Jared Wade from 8points9seconds.com here

I agree with Matt. Probably not Mike.

    Let's talking INDY BASKETBALL.
    3:00
    Comment From LRL
    Paul George BABY!!!!!
    3:01

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He's looking good, LRL.
    3:01
    Comment From Paul George
    I have 2 first names
    3:02
    Comment From Jason
What can we expect from Hansbrough this year?
    3:02

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He was pretty tenacious, if raw and awkward, when he played last year. Provided he can stay healthy, I think we will see some good "energy" stuff from him off the bench. Birdman-ish, albeit contributing in different ways.
    3:02
    Comment From Ryan B
    Paul George UNDERRATED LIKE DG
    3:03
    Comment From Nathan
I think the weakest position for Pacers is not PF - anyone who has watched McRoberts play know he will do a good job for them - it's SG where Dunleavy just isn't good enough on D or consistent enough on O and Brandon Rush has been a disappointment.
    3:03

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): McRoberts has indeed shown flashes. It's hard to know if it can translate to real minutes, however. Can say I'm particularly impressed with the offerings at either of those slots.
    3:03
    Comment From Aardvark Smash
At least Granger looked good at the WC's, right? Anyone?
    3:04
    Comment From Team Pacers
How can Paul George coexist with Granger on the same court, Jared?
    3:04

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Well, with Jim O'Brien's offense there really isn't a huge difference between what is required out of the 2, 3 and 4. George, provided he can play defense like they think he can play defense, should be able to co-exist fine.
    3:04
    Comment From Michael
Can pacers trade for Anthony Randolph?
    3:04

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): I don't get the Anthony Randolph hype. Never seen him do anything of value on a basketball court. Pass.
    3:05
    Comment From Mr. Happy
Jarred, T-mac 13 points, 35 seconds was more impressive then millers!
    3:05

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Not even close, although it was mystifying.
    3:05
    Comment From Robert
any chance Larry Bird comes back to coach Indiana??
    3:05

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Doubt he ever mans the sidelines again anywhere.
    3:05
    Comment From boy george
do you really want to hurt me
    3:05
    Comment From Zack
What white guy is Larry Bird going to trade for this season?
    3:05

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Hopefully 1986 Larry Bird. Doc Brown is working on it now.
    3:06
    Comment From Tyler Hansborough
    Sorry im so terrible
    3:07
    Comment From Hoopsta
How do you think Roy Hibbert is gonna do this year?
    3:07

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He is gonna score well in the post. He's been getting better and better each year and I think we will see his efficiency and confidence with the ball at an all-time high. Many are expecting him to be a primary focus on the offense.
    3:07
    Comment From Kyle
Can Granger really be a franchise player?
    3:07

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): No.

    Comment From Dave
Who is most likely to be the next one traded on the Pacers?
    3:08

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Probably Dunleavy if he shows some health. His future with Indy is over in June anyway so if they can get something back from a contender/Playoff team looking for some experience/versatility in their back court, they'll make that move. TJ Ford obviously is on the block, too.
    3:09
    Comment From B
AJ Price is the best backup PG in the NBA.
    3:09

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): That's not true but he did show some promise last year. We'll see how he comes back from that knee injury. Takes some guys a while.
    3:09
    Comment From Paul George
Will I be seeing serious minutes this year?
    3:09

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): I think so.
    3:09
    Comment From nick m
are the pacers an upcoming franchise
    3:09

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): They have upcoming games, yes.
    3:09
    Comment From TJ Ford
    I will never leave!
    3:09
    Comment From Nick P
Who runs the back up point this year?
    3:10

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): AJ. TJ Ford some. Lance Stephenson on occasion if he's not in Rikers with Weezy.
    3:10
    Comment From Kay
What is the best case scenario you see for the Pacers 5 years from now? (considering expiring contracts and potential in Collison, Granger...)
    3:10

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Tough to look that far out these days. Losing to the Heat in the ECF would be nice.

    Comment From Rickey
What is Danny Granger's ceiling? 6th man on a championship team? 3rd wheel for a contender?
    3:11

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He's certainly a starter and perhaps an All-Star on any team. He is not amazing with the ball, so somewhere that he can have Rashard Lewis responsibilities would suit him nicely.
    3:12
    Comment From dukedynamite
What do you think Brandon Rush's future on this team will be?
    3:12

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Short.
    3:12
    Comment From Aardvark Smash
Why didn't the Pacers sign Ridnour? If they hadn't got Collison he could have at least been a decent point.
    3:12

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Not sure. Bird showed patience even as the PG situation became more and more desperate with AJ Price blowing out his knee. Paid off though so tough to second guess. Got Darren.
    3:13
    Comment From Team Pacers
At the end of the season, should they resign any of their EC or should they hope that there is some value in this years FA class?
    3:13

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): God no.
    3:13
    Comment From Hoopsta
Roy Hibbert post game > Dwight Howard post game?
    3:13

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Not sure I'd go that far. It's certainly prettier.
    3:13
    Comment From PacersFan1
What's the biggest area the Pacers must improve to be a playoff caliber team?
    3:13

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Talent. Don't have much. Rebounding and just general offensive efficiency would be secondary focuses.
    3:13
    Comment From Roy Hibbert
Why are overbearing moms hating on my pink backpacks? They are so fabulous!
    3:14
    Comment From Z Hill
Do we even have a shot of going to the playoffs this year?
    3:14

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): A shot? Sure. Not holding my breath. Should be in the 7-10 range.
    3:15
    Comment From Rickey
Seeing as how Granger is at best a 2nd banana on a great team, is there any chance Hibbert can develop into a real threat in the post and take the leadership role on the team?
    3:15

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): I don't know the guy but not sure he is "leader" material. Just personality wise he seems to play the background. Gentle giant and all that.
    3:15
    Comment From Team Pacers
    Over under 35 wins?
    3:15

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): 35 is about right.
    3:15
    Comment From Lance
    Weeeezy BABY!!
    3:15
    Comment From Rob the Rabid
Is Roy Hibbert a quality starting C in the league? I.E. can you win a championship with him logging the most minutes at C?
    3:15

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): For sure.
    3:15
    Comment From Ryan B
    Lance has a chance
    3:16
    Comment From Drew
Isn't Lance more of a 0 guard a la Gilbert Arenas and Tyreke Evans?
    3:16

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Yeah.
    3:16
    Comment From nick m
do you see the pacers as a contender
    3:16

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Hahahaha.
    3:17
    Comment From PacerPrideKoolAid
I used to hear that Danny Granger was a lot like Scottie Pippen. Besides being an accomplished scorer, Pippen was also a lock down defender. Do you see Danny ever putting in the time, effort, and focus to become a elite defender? Or will he continue to try to out shoot the competition? He did promise...
    3:17

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He is a pretty good defender when he wants to be. Blocks and such, plus just positions himself well and is hard to exploit. When he wants to. Reality is though that he has to carry so much weight on the other end that he's incapable -- either physically or mentally -- from really locking down on the other side. Happens.
    3:18
    Comment From Rob the Rabid
What's the aspect of Granger's game that could be improved most?
    3:18

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Ball-handling. As in, doing effective things off the bounce. He's mostly a one or two dribble guy and then score or pass off.
    3:18
    Comment From Kyle C
Wil Roy overtake Danny as the face of the team? Has he already?
    3:18

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Nah.
    3:18
    Comment From ced
I feel that the Pacers are better/deeper at every spot including at PF because Murphy is really bad on D. How can some expert can think that we'll win less games than last year?
    3:18

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): A lot of question marks in the front court. Only Roy is proven at all.
    3:18
    Comment From Speed
Who is the 2nd leading scorer this year, DC or Roy?
    3:19

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Tough call. I'll go with Darren just cause of how perimeter-oriented this team is and how much he'll have the ball.
    3:20
    Comment From Team Pacers
Will the 3 come back for Granger? ala MIP season?
    3:20

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): The 3 come back? He's one of the top couple shooters in the league. Never left. He was just forcing bad shots too much last year. His shot is fine.

Hibbert isn't a very good rebounder for his size. Who is going to rebound the ball for the Pacers?
    3:20

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): That's the unknown. If Foster can't hack it anymore, it's going to be ugly.
    3:21
    Comment From Josh McRoberts
    I can do it!
    3:21
    Comment From Brian
Are there any trade talks currently for Rush, Dunleavey, Dahntay or Solo?
    3:21

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): No one is going to want Dahntay at his salary. I think Rush and Dun are both movable. Nothing specific though. GMs are gonna want to see MDJ play.
    3:21
    Comment From Rob the Rabid
Is Danny Granger the SF version of Gilbert Arenas? Minus the off-the-court issues and the blog?
    3:21

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): No idea what you're talking about.

Is McRoberts our PF for the future or will Hansbrough take over?
    3:22

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Most likely? Neither.

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Nah. Nothing to offer plus his "attitude" will scare off management.

How good can Roy Hibbert be?

Is Dunleavy anywhere near his 08-09 productivity in this offense?
    3:23

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): "Anywhere near"? Perhaps. But I don't think we'll see him as impressive as that. He was really, really good that season. MVP of the team in my book.

is obrien going to make it through the entire season with the pacers?
    3:24

Bigger concern coaching or talent in 2010?
    3:24

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Talent. Way worse.
    3:25
    Comment From fanTSY
what will the pacers do with all of their contracts? Wait for the summer or move people before the deadline?
    3:25

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): A little of both. Look for a few moves. Good position because some GMs/owners will probably offer decent talent for even a guy like Foster since they will want to get their salary commitments as low as possible leading up to the CBA negotiations/lockout.
    3:25
    Comment From ced
Murph was a liability on D, I think the pacers will be better without him and that's the key for a better season. your thought?
    3:25

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He was the second best offensive player on the team and the best rebounder. The team's biggest flaws last year were offense and rebounding not defense. He'll be missed.
    3:27
    Comment From Rickey
So, we've heard why the Pacers won't make it...why do they have a shot to make it?
    3:27

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Darren Collison might be better than even his biggest fans think. He could flourish. 22 ppg isn't out of the question. He'll have the mandate to make plays and the ball in his hands a lot. If Granger can play like he did after the break last year, Roy can turn the corner into "scary to guard" post player, MDJ can be healthy and McRoberts can be productive ... could be a nice little season.

    Comment From Darren Collison
I know I've run the pick and roll my whole life, but can I flourish in this type of offense too?
    3:28

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): I think so. Lots of spread shooters. Lots of driving lanes. Your speed should kill.
    3:29
    Comment From Concerned Fantasy Owner

Lance is the greatest NYC high school baller ever!

Do the Pacers have an official rally song?

if some combination of paul george, tyler hansbrough, lance stephenson, and magnum rolle turn out to be stars, what does the future look like for the pacers in the next couple years?
    3:31

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Pretty good. I don't think anyone expects any of those guys to be "stars" though.

Trade Danny Granger and let Paul George develop?
    3:32

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): A little premature on that. We don't even know what George can do outside of being athletic yet.

could the pacers suprise people and win 48 games this year?

Do you see Collison negatively effecting Granger's fantasy numbers?
    3:34

who do you see as being untouchable on the roster?
    3:34

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): No one. But Danny means a lot. He's been here through all this. They won't trade him unless they're blown away, I don't think.
    3:34
    Comment From USF
Don't you think he (DG) will have to shoulder less of the scoring load now, though? Collison/Hibbert/George will be scoring as well.
    3:35

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Yeah.
    3:35
    Comment From Sheck
Is there too much pressure on Collison?
    3:35

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Nah. I think he wants it to be there as much as possible though. Optimal scenario for a young, hungry PG trying to prove himself. He has no one to defer to offensively really. Can freelance as much as he wants and just make things happen. No reins.
    3:36
    Comment From Ms. Cleo
I foresee the combo of Hansborough, screening for Collison, getting him loose in the lane, and finding Granger at the 3 point line being very dangerous.

    Comment From Tyrus Thomas
You guys could really use an athletic 4

Do you think there will be teams interested in Dunleavy? I just don't see getting much for him at all.
    3:37

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): He's the type of guy coaches love. There may be decent offers if he returns to previous form.

Who's the best player on the Pacers two years from now?
    3:37

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Probably still Granger.

    Comment From Rob the Rabid
How will the addition of DC help Granger's game?
    3:38

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): Should get him more open shots. Kick outs and such. Danny had trouble getting good looks last year -- particularly early -- and just launched a ton of terrible, contested treys. Hopefully, DC's presence will curtail that.
    3:38
    Comment From Craggen
Would you rather have Granger or Deng on your team

Is McRoberts a poor mans Troy Murphy or is he just a straight up stiff?
    3:39

Jared Wade (8 Points, 9 Seconds / TrueHoop Network): They're different. Not a "straight up stiff." We can't be sure he'll be that good though. Has never done anything before consistently in this league.

Is 15 and 8 unrealistic for Roy this year?
    3:39
