I came here to post this exact trade, except I'd be willing to give the 2011 2nd rounder. We still get the better end of it, but it's good for the Magic too. Dahntay would fill out their wing rotation nicely next to VC, Reddick, Q-Rich, and Pietrus. Factoring in luxury tax, they save a little under 5 mil throughout the length of contracts, though none this year, since amazingly the salaries match up perfectly. They can cut Malik Allen, whose contract is non-guaranteed to make room for Solo. They'd still have plenty of bigs behind Howard and Lewis - Gortat, R. Andersen, Orton, Solo.
Pretty much a no-brainer for the Pacers. Sure, we have to pay Bass about 2.5 mil total more than Dahntay, but it adds depth at PF with a guy who still has a lot of potential. The 2nd round wouldn't be as fun next year, but I'll take Bass and shedding Dahntay's salary (while trimming the roster to 15) any day of the week.
Sadly, I doubt the Magic pull the trigger on this. If they didn't have Pietrus, I think they'd be more tempted. Bird's already had a great summer, but turning:
