I kinda feel that "sky is falling" vibe around here, color me confused.
Lets recap that Rockets game real quick. Virtually tied at the half, despite Hibbert and Granger having below average games.
Then to start the second half against the Rocket starters, we throw a lineup out there featuring D Jones and Solo, two guys who will spend most of the year in street clothes... why is anyone surprised we fell behind at that point?
For the record, that lineup also featured a PG who is brand new to the team, a PF who is (essentially) a rookie, and offensive dynamo Brandon Rush. Against the starting lineup of a veteran playoff team.
Am I the only one who pays zero attention to the outcome of pre-season games? I just watch to see how young players are coming along and to see what the team is running. Two things I've noticed so far...
1. Hibbert is getting a lot more low post touches when he is in the game, just like Obrien said. This makes me very happy.
2. Hansbrough looks like he hasn't missed a beat, in fact he looks better. Check his FG% so far. Much more efficient so far. This after we questioned if he could EVER come back.
I guess I'm not really that surprised when a veteran playoff team beats a rebuilding roster that is experimenting with lineups. The inexperience factor and lack of chemistry alone explains about half the turnovers.
I guess what I'm saying is, convince me to jump off the bridge... I just don't see any reason to be worried just yet. What did you honestly expect?
