Default Pacers Open To Trading Wing Player

    Oct 06, 2010 8:05 AM EST
The Pacers currently have 17 players on their roster and will need to reduce that number by at least two before the start of the regular season.

Mike Wells of The Indianapolis Star writes that center Lance Allred, who was brought in as an extra body for training camp, will likely be cut.

Still, the Pacers will have to make a two-for-one trade in order to reach the magic number of 15 before the 2010-11 season begins.

They are open to trading one of their wing players because they have an excess of talent at the position.

Ford and Rush? Probably something Charlotte would be interested in. I'd like to keep Brandon though.

To be honest I think this has D Jones written all over it. Yes he is a defender but does he fit with JOBsoffensive style?

I tell you, O'Brien REALLY needs to go right now. We don't need him giving minutes to T.J., we don't need him messing with Collison, and we don't need him playing Dahntay at PF (or at least defending at the 4). Extending O'Brien was HORRIBLE and it is even more evident as the days go by. He should have been gone by the end of this past season at the very latest. Now when we have a nice young group of players, O'Brien is here to mess it all up!

I say we just trade T.J. and Solo together if possible. If not T.J., then I wouldn't mind trading Posey because he is getting up there in age. But then again, it all might just come down on releasing Solo and buying his contract out.

I wouldnt be too worried about who fits and doesnt fit JOBs style...I dont see JOB being here past this season. His contract expires and I dont see any reason why Bird would re-sign.

I wouldn't mind if they did a 2-for-1 trade to get back a backup center and a future draft pick.

That's probably the best they could do without trading Granger or Hibbert.

Larry is not coming back, he didn't have a meeting with Orlando for not reason, yeah he is coming back to the NBA but not to the Pacers, the notion that he is a taking a year off and then come back is absurd.

Odd, I did most of my email replies on a Blackberry while travelling, and I managed to frequently engage the use of the English language. I suppose I should've used shorthand and told my employer to 'deal with it.'

C'mon guys, leave the poor kid alone. Im sure writing a msg on PD and writing an email to your employer is a HUGE difference. Obviously the language you're going to use in an email to your employer is going to be different than something you post on PD

i still think that Bird brought Inferno in as a role player for the long term......specifically beyond JO'Bs tenure given the length of his contract. The only way that I see Inferno or Posey being moved is if we take back a contract that lasts beyond this season. Otherwise, I think that he is in Bird's long term plans.

Outside of waiving Solo, if we were to do a "2fer1" deal......my guess is that the most likely candidate would be Dunleavy ( along with Solo ). Between now and the regular season.....if it looks like he's returned to form and is healthy, his trade value will go up.

    Translation:

    Dear sirs,

I am inclined to agree, but who would you make this deal for? I would have been interested in Erik Dampier's expiring contract, but I am not enthralled by anyone on their current roster.

My apologies, I was in a rush getting back to my studies.
