Default I'm calling this one BS

The Pacers say Hansbrough has not suffered a setback, but they have chosen to gradually to ease last year's first-round pick back into the mix so he doesn't get overwhelmed.

    It's freakin basketball.
    This is a college graduate.
    And a totally driven kid.

He's OBVIOUSLY still suffering effects significant enough to make them very cautious, and that's fine.
But worried that Tyler Hansbrough might be "overwhelmed" by a basketball game????????

He obviously must have took one trip up the court last week and totally fell on his bum.

First of all the term "overwhelmed" was not a quote, but a word that Mike Wells came up with. Lets not overreact.

I'm nervous, but not panicing yet. However if he doesn't play vs Orlando or Houston, I will be in total panic mode. "Gradually bringing him back" involves few, but steadily increasing minutes in pre season games IMO. If I don't see this, I will begin to seriously question whether or not he will ever contribute in the NBA.

Maybe he doesn't want to play on a team with a recent track record of losing. He wants to see if we win the first pre-season game in order for him to come back.

I thought he was a spectator again? In the video, I believe he's just playing 4 on 4. (I'll check again though)

Still, it's preseason. I'd rather they ease him in too. This is perhaps more for his personality than anything. He's an overly physical, slightly out of control basketball player. Since we can't use the helmet, introducing him slowly, is probably the safest way to go.

He was definitely playing 5 on 5 in Monday's highlights. Even if I didn't already know I saw 10 people on the court, its not like they would stop in the middle of a scrimmage sub in Tyler and make 3 others come out.

It's not the wording, it's the message.
They keep making excuses and pushing back his release.
I'm happy to hear he played 5 on 5, but now he's not playing?
That doesn't sound good to me.
I'm just frustrated not knowing what's really going on.
I SEEMS like he's got to still be having considerable trouble given how they are treating him with kid gloves.
Just would LOVE to see ALL the pieces in place at the same time for once.
Oh well, here's hoping McBob can REALLY take the minutes and run with them. (literally)
And we hopefully get Tyler functional over the course of the season.

I think they had a plan for his return and they're sticking to it. I don't feel mislead at all. Patience is a virtue...

I'm patient about the Tyler thing, but it is pretty odd. Generally, I have a bad feeling about it because a concussion is typically something people recover from within a shorter period of time.

I just plan to keep my fingers crossed and hope he gets back in the mix. If he doesn't play much over the next couple months or has a setback...then it will be time to be concerned.

I got to listen to a little bit of the pre-game tonight, and apparently Tyler still wasn't cleared to play 5-on-5 the other day, but he 'snuck in there' for a bit during practice that day.

Honestly, and I'm well aware that it's Kevin Lee talking, but I get the impression he's expected to play sooner rather than later, but they're trying to do this right and give Tyler as much time as they can to take his time getting back. I expect him to be in uniform to start the season, and probably sometime during the preseason.
