Default IND / PHI / DEN

    http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade...radeid=5671457

    Denver gets:
    Andre Iguodala (12.3M)
    Jeff Foster (6.6M)

    Denver gives up:
    Carmelo Anthony (17.1M)

    Philadelphia gets:
    Mike Dunleavy (10.5M)
    T.J. Ford (8.5M)
    James Posey* (7.1M)

    Philadephia gives up:
    Andre Iguodala (12.3M)
    Elton Brand (15.9M)

    Indiana gets:
    Carmelo Anthony (17.1M)
    Elton Brand (15.9M)

    Indiana gives up:
    Mike Dunleavy (10.5M)
    T.J. Ford (8.5M)
    James Posey* (7.1M)
    Jeff Foster (6.6M)

*Restriction requires trade to occur after Oct. 11, 2010.

Denver gets something for the inevitable loss of Anthony. Philadelphia gets to dump over $90M in salary past next year. Indiana gets Anthony (and the trade is premised on Anthony signing a long-term extension).

Where is the catch? I would guess the big catch would be whether or not the 76ers are simply looking to dump salary and talent, though there were strong indications they were looking to move the #2OVR simply to move Brand's contract and they would effectively be doing the same except moving Iggy who plays the same position as the #2OVR.

Would the Pacers take on Brand to get Anthony for the long-term (and would Anthony even sign)?

I think the Nuggets would do it in a heartbeat if they truly believe Anthony is walking after this year.

    Thoughts?

I don't want Melo and he wouldn't like it here.

With trade talks picking up with Philadelphia, time to re-examine?

Philly wouldn't even discuss that. They would hang up the phone on that crap. It is pretty horrible for them.

They get to give up Brand's awful contract and can start a real rebuilding next year with Turner instead of having their hands tied for the foreseeable future.
