I just wanna say how full of awesome this is. The whole freakin' team minus DC, Posey, and TJ (who cares about TJ?) Just awesome would have been a great night to be at bub's.

Man I am freakin' excited for this season! These guys seem so likable!

Also like the no man left behind mentality, how many all stars (Danny) would be out playing laser tag and eating pound burgers with guys like Magnum and Lance Allred who might not even be on the team?

    LET'S GO PACERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Boys...seriously..

I'm kinda glad DC isn't there, if Danny's about to barf..I mean DC is TINY

edit: maybe DC is there..lol..I think this game had an unfair advantage to the bigger guys..

I Don't think he's the only one that feels this year might be a little different. Also love that Foster and Dun made the rookies wear Hibber jerseys. I'm so excited about this team!

    should be a hibbert jersey.
You can guess the second 5 but it's difficult.
Also Roy mentioned Hibbert and Dunleavy made the Rookies wear Roy's jersey.

    Duke will be so jealous...

    or

Duke will be so flattered by Roy making the rookies carry bags with the image of his alternate identity on them...

    I'm not really sure which.

I found this tweet from Roy interesting

    http://twitter.com/Hoya2aPacer/status/27500953340

Played horrible 2nite. Love how my teammates pulled this 1 out. May have to put the weight bck on somehow. Being lite isn't workin 4 me.
So is this an overreaction, spur of the moment tweet, a joke, or something he might actually be considering?

Sounds like it's something he may be considering.

I don't think the problem is his weight, though. I like the quicker Roy, but he needs to adapt his game. From what I've seen during preseason, he's making poor decisions with the ball and often trying to force the offense. He's rushing his shots in the post and trying to go through defenders. That's not going to work. He should focus on slowing things down, making better decisions, and getting a bit craftier with his moves. It's something that should come eventually once he's settled down a bit. He's just trying to do too much. At least that's how I see it.

Hopefully, though, if he does add the weight back, he does it in the weight room and not at Bub's.

I agree with you 100% about the weight. Roy's definitely quicker and he's also getting up and down the floor faster (witness the nice follow-up jam last night). Roy's shots weren't dropping last night. That happens. He's a good shooter and has good touch.

It's WAY too early to start saying that he needs to put the weight he lost back on. He's still a big load for anyone to handle underneath and sticking the 20 lbs. or so of fat that he lost back on him isn't going to change that.

Last night I was more concerned with him turning the ball over. It usually happened when he was putting the ball to the floor to start a move to the hoop and a smaller defender would rotate over and take the ball away from his blind side. He needs to be more patient and start his move closer to the hoop and keep the ball high to prevent getting pickpocketed.

Part of the turnover problem also wasn't entirely Roy's fault. There would be an entry pass from someone into Roy and then the person making it would cut to the basket. If he was covered, Roy, being too far from the hoop to do anything, often then had no one left to outlet too. No other Pacer would swing over to take an outlet pass from Roy. As a result, Roy would then have no alternative but to put the ball on the floor himself and start shouldering his man to start a move to the hoop. Then, as he would try to move closer, a smaller defender would come over to double him from Roy's blind side and would do the pickpocketing while Roy was trying to dribble.

When an entry pass to Roy at low post is made, the rest of the team has to look to give Roy an outlet if Roy is too far from the bucket to start a power move.

    Just my thinking.
