Default The anime thread (reborn in generic form after 15 months)

I figure with Otakon coming up and it being the season where I get back into anime a bit more, I thought I'd do a roll call. We had a rather large thread on this subject a few years back.

I'm still currently following Naruto, Kenichi and Bleach, but I've recently gotten into High School of the Dead. It's easily my favorite new series of 2010 thusfar. Rarely does horror anime go mainstream, but this one has a real shot.

I'm attempting to get into Sekirei, but so far it isn't living up to expectations.

The Legend of the Legndary Heroes might just be the most unimaginative title ever, but the show itself is promising after only 3 eps.

It wasn't about being the team everyone loved, it was about beating the teams everyone else loved.

    Division Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 1989, 1990, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
    Conference Champions 1955, 1956, 1988, 2005
    NBA Champions 1989, 1990, 2004

Did we lose the previous thread? Shame...

Manga-wise, it's only Naruto and Bleach for me at the moment. Naruto continues to shine and I look forward to it every week, while Bleach continues to bog down at every turn. This past week's chapter was particularly awful...what a waste of space.

I'm currently watching High School of the Dead, K-ON!! S2, Giant Killing, and Kaichou wa Maid-sama. I think I may add a couple more series.

I'm looking forward to Otakon again this year. I'm not going to be able to go probably for the next couple years, so I'll have to enjoy Baltimore more this year.
Don't ask Marvin Harrison what he did during the bye week. "Batman never told where the Bat Cave is," he explained.

I've tried watching Kekkashi, and I don't see what the fuss is about. It looks like generic crap.

I'm on the Namek Saga on my DragonBall Z boxed sets. My friend brought over the new FMA a couple of weeks ago.

And at the time, I liked the old FMA quite a bit. This new one is terrific. There's a constant blend of comedy and seriousness.

Where do you read your manga online? It looks like onemanga.com is no longer going to be available.

Haven't found a place yet, but I expect another one to be available eventually.

Mangafox.com is still up, but they removed all of their viz titles.

You wouldn't catch me dead in Baltimore inner harbor with or without a few thousand tempermental anime fans in attendance.

Being that I'm not a nerd, I don't know the exact number of people who congregate at anime festivals. Pardon my ignorance.

I kid, I kid. I just like to rile you up Kstat.

I might be a nerd to some degree, but not because I post on an NBA teams' message board.

I would agree FMA: Brotherhood has been absolutely excellent.

I can see some potential in Kekkaishi but I'm not overly impressed. I'll give it another few episodes on [adult swim] to grab me.

I finally got to see Hayate the Combat Butler at Otakon this weekend...hilarious. I can't believe I hadn't seen this before. After watching only 4 eps, I highly recommend it.

    Better than Mahoromatic?

Mahoromatic is on my to-do list, so I can't say. But Hayate, based on the first 4 episodes I saw, was really funny. They actually showed 7, and I was seriously considering skipping the beginning of the Masquerade to watch the rest.

I swear, Naruto continues to get better and more exciting every week. This new chapter was awesome. Meanwhile, Bleach continues to flounder...they finally have an exciting premise, and Kubo ruins it by making it short and not explaining what's going on at all. Boy, it's sucking.

Anybody have a chance to check out some of the new fall season anime? Samurai girls is intriguing.

I'm a bit lagging, but here's what I think might be interesting:

Star Driver, Bakuman, The World God Only Knows. Not sure what else will be good, have to keep my ear out.

It looks like a pretty subpar Fall season.

HotD has been not as good as I thought it could be. I wish there was more zombieness and less fan service.
