Roulette's the only game I play. I miss Vegas!
Did you know I have a small roulette table in my house?

Make sure to look for european roulette tables next time you're in Vegas. They are the ones with only one green 0. the house still has a slight advantage, but it is cut in half compared to the American 0/00 tables. The catch is usually they have a larger minimum in order to play on them.

Do you just bet red or black every time?

Other people might want to chime in, but this is my take on it:

    Absolutely not.

I have a complex method that might take a little time to explain, but for SOME reason, when you look at lifetime earnings and losses, I'm definitely 'up'. The strange thing is, this is the one game that is not supposed to have a "skill" advantage. It's totally random every spin. Statistically, if you bet the same way for long enough time, you will consistently lose, but not much.

Once I developed my method, one that combines inside and outside chip placement, stakes fluctuation, and movement based on recent number history, I've had a fairly lucky go. I don't know why, but it's been a decent run.

If anyone is serious about making any money gambling, there are only three real methods to follow:

    1) get extremely lucky early and then know when to walk away before you **** your earnings away. Good luck!

    2) learn to count cards at blackjack and pray you don't get caught. Now that there is facial recognition software and open sharing of information between casinos, getting caught counting at one casino would likely result in a ban at nearly every other casino.

    3) Prey on human frailty. See: Poker. See also: bookkeeping/loan sharking.

Everything else is just paying to feel a thrill. It should be no different than paying $100 for a day of food and riding rides at Disneyland. Only instead of roller-coasters, you stare at a spinning wheel.

Didn't notice the roulette wheel. We'll have to play/discuss strategies.

Well, couldn't resist. On my way to Vegas now. I'll take some pics of my Bellagio breakfast.

What's your guys take on craps? Do you like it or not?

Used to only play blackjack but lately have taken to rolling the dice and I am just learning the finer points of the game.

I don't really know much about craps. But I know that people get really excited around the craps table. the problem with Craps is that another player is rolling the dice. Occasionally, people get personal when the rolling player rolls the wrong number and his buddies lose money. I don't play craps because I don't want to be the "reason" someone else wins or loses.

I've never played craps. You should try it if you're interested, but it can get heated.

LA, it'll be nice and hot for you when you get out.

I was a little disappointed in Vegas...I went back in April to see a concert. Vegas was dead that Saturday night. They was no one on the streets and a handful of people in each casino we ventured to (Friday wasn't as bad).

The concert on Sunday saved the trip (that and the group of friends I went with).

Hopefully it was just a down weekend (though I never thought Vegas would have a down weekend) and your trip is much better.

    Have a great time.

I don't doubt that you have a "method", but your story reminds me of my Uncle's method of betting on Roulette....which pretty much turned out to be cover the vast majority of the table with chips.

I used to love playing craps....but that was before I started playing Limit Hold-em Poker. Craps can be fun...especially if you join a huge table and you're lucky enough to find a roller that keeps on hitting their point. For me, I usually always bet on "Don't Pass"...basically betting against the shooter. It's good when the table is absolutely cold.

I'm sure that there is someone here that can explain a decent way to bet. Most people play the pass line and then bet on the odds to increase winnings.

    You're actually pretty close.
