Not much going on unless you want to talk about Lance, so I just was thinking since Yahoo is ranking all players by position where will Granger end up? I'm thinking 4th behind Lebron, Durant, and Melo. Is that to high? Who else could be put above him, Paul Pierce, maybe. I don't think there are too many other SF's that are better than Granger.

Paul Pierce, Gerald Wallace, Ron Artest.

Danny is flat out better than Wallace, and at this time in his career Artest isn't much more than a great defender. He can still score, but not like Granger.

He won't be 4th. I would guess somewhere around 9th

You might be right, but I can't think of 8 other SF's better than Danny.

    5. Danny?

I can't really think of another sf I'd want more. This is obviously assuming Kobe is not an SF.

    Whats your logic?

The guy played injured quite a bit and still only seen a small dip in performance.

Offensively was still in the elite class of scoring in the league while maintaining average/above average defense.

On a nightly basis outscored his match up.

Maybe if we start counting players who can play multiple positions in the SF category, then Danny might drop to around 9-10.

But after about the top 3ish small forwards theres a significant dropoff and the talent levels off, IMO.

After last season, Danny has fallen back into the crowd of 5-10 "good" SFs.

Is this Fantasy rankings or actual Player Rankings? If Fantasy I could see an all around stat stuffer like Wallace be ranked higher.

Paul Pierce may be ahead of Danny only because of how good the Celtics are as a whole as Pierce has REALLY dropped off in recent years--that doesn't mean he can still have some good games now and then, but Danny is definitely the better player between the two of them right now imo. My list below is where Danny is right now AT WORST among all small forwards:

    1. LeBron James
    2. Kevin Durant
    3. Carmelo Anthony
    4. Danny Granger

Personally I'd like to take Granger more than Anthony as Melo seems more of a ME ME ME player...well that and a whiner. And I really don't think Granger, during his All-Star season, was much less of a talent than Kevin Durant this past season--the Thunder only racked up more wins than Granger and the Pacers had in that All-Star season of his. Sure Danny had an off year this year and Durant is several years younger, but all in all they have the same skillsets and do the same things on the court. But nobody can top LeBron.

But he is also a winner. Before melo who did denver have and how good were they? Now they are a team people fear to play.

Granger cannot say the same thing. Blame it on poor management but GREAT players find ways to win. We will see how good Cleveland is this year without lebron. Anthony is on the same tier with those types of player. He is probably I would say the 6th best player in the league and is a complete
    player

If you take granger off the pacers we are still bad.

I agree with the part that Melo is winner. He also won a national title at Syracuse. That is what I put in the "Would you trade Granger For Melo" thread.

yeaaa...granger isn't all that great of a defender, average at best...but i'd put him in the 6-7 range.

It used to be better. I'm hoping he gets placed in a role this summer to focus on other things besides score. He is capable of better defense than he's shown recently.

He should be in the top 5, but knowing how things work he'll probably only be in the 6-10 section.
