Ickey Woods' son dies

Elbert Jovante Woods, the 16-year-old son of former Bengals star Ickey Woods, died at 8:30 p.m. today at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, three days after collapsing at his home from an asthma attack.
Jovante was taken to the hospital at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after collapsing at his home. He had practiced that morning with Princeton High School’s varsity football team.
Jovante, who would have begun his junior year at Princeton on Monday, would have been playing his third season of varsity football. He was an excellent student and had a 3.8 GPA.
Ickey Woods is head coach of the Cincinnati Sizzle, a women’s full-contact football team, and he operates the Ickey Woods Youth Foundation.
