It takes a massive amount of pressure off of rookie's Paul and Lance. Right or wrong, I know a lot of fans were expecting to see a lot out of these 2 guys right away.

I know personally I was probably excepting a little to much, only because I felt the rookies were the only thing I had to look forward to this season.

Maybe now we can all have a little lower expectations for the rooks. I still hope they both get meaningful playing time, but this could help them ease into the NBA a little smoother.

I sure feel a lot better about renewing my season tixs now. I was seriously dreading going to the games this season.

We've got eight players in their first three years in the league to watch now:

Rush, Hibbert - I'm still excited about them and although I'm in the minority, I still like Rush.

Tyler, Collison, Price - All have shown they belong in the league, and they still have a lot of upside.

George, Lance, Rolle - While they haven't yet shown they belong in the league, and were drafted primarily because of upside not NBA-readiness, it should be fun watching them grow up.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

TO me this trade influences Rush more than anything. Collison just put all the pressure of scoring on himself and gave Rush a much needed breather from all the criticism.

I really hope Rush has his break out year.

If you've got to count on Rush, who's capable offensively but not necessarily emphatic, to be one of your top-three options then you've got problems. As a #4 or #4 option, he'll really have an opportunity to make teams pay if they forget about him or stick a weak defender on him.

As a #4 or #5 option, he's got to be given a green light to score the ball when he does get the ball, because it likely will only come to him during a rotation anyway. He doesn't have to be focused on moving the ball to a #1/#2/#3 option because that's why he's got it in the first place.

Right now I'm just hoping that Rush can survive another year with JOB only to have a break-out year with a good coach the following season. Rush needs to be used like Miller. Have him running off of screens for open 3's.
