Thread: Hey David Kahn...

    Default Hey David Kahn...

Kahn had a more emphatic response about the alleged Murphy deal.

"Murphy is yet another in a long line of desperation Hail Mary's put out by Indiana on all our players," Kahn said.

On Tuesday, Kahn moved quickly to dispel rumors that he was considering trading Wolves point guard Jonny Flynn to Indiana in exchange for the Pacers' first-round pick, No. 10 overall, in Thursday night's draft. Kahn said the Pacers made the offer last week but he turned it down.
Darren Collison > Johnny Flynn. You may now kiss Larry's a$$.

I'm sure Khan was trying to get Collison to add to his ever growing number of PG's.

Yeah, but New Orleans didn't take Murphy, and they sure as hell wouldn't have, either.

    lol this is funny...

Good job by Bird being patient. It truly paid off. And ya I got to agree, Collison is going to have a better career than Flynn. Let alone his game, just his character alone seems amazing.

I love what we gave away...only Murphy. We managed to retain our picks and young guys. Murphy wasnt a going to be a part of the future of this team so theres no real loss there.

And the way that JOB likes to run his system, I can see Posey getting mins at the PF position
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

Taking this a slightly different direction...

Just how much of a bozo is Avery Johnson?

He really wanted Murphy that bad? A player that Don Nelson cast away shortly before his #8 seeded Warriors upset Avery's #1 seeded Mavericks.

I'm so glad Jim O'Brien is our coach instead of this guy. Jim might be #29 in the league, but he ain't #30 if Avery is around.
Why do the things that we treasure most, slip away in time
Till to the music we grow deaf, to God's beauty blind
Why do the things that connect us slowly pull us apart?
Till we fall away in our own darkness, a stranger to our own hearts
And life itself, rushing over me
Life itself, the wind in black elms,
Life itself in your heart and in your eyes, I can't make it without you

I'm very disappointed with Avery Johnson+Billy [King]. Besides the Favors pick (possibly Thorn's decision), it's been an appalling off-season for New Jersey.

I think you mean Billy King. What would you expect? He screwed up the Sixers handing out stupid contracts and now he is back in business.

I still believe they wanted Murphy for his expiring contract with an eye towards turning it into talent by February, or expiring savings for the lockout. In the meantime, they have credibility to those fans (assuming they have a few fans, period) who have not followed him closely during his time here when his stats improved to their current levels. I doubt that Avery Johnson cares much for this acquisition due to his normal focus on defense with a realization that Troy struggles with that aspect of his game.

As far as the Warriors upset of the Mavs, prior to the trade that very season the Pacers matched up favorably with the Mavs and beat them due to Harrington and Jackson. The Mavs simply had no answer for either of them, especially when they worked together.

I hate to admit it....but I'm starting to see a bit of order out of the chaos in Minnesota. I still think Kahn's eye for talent and communication skills suck, but some of the things he is doing there make sense. He has a plan....of some sort.

Oh no, sorry for the misunderstanding, I'm not disappointed with the Favors pick at all, I think it was their best move of the Summer, a really good decision. What I dislike are their other decisions.

Yep. It's a shame too because the Nets had a very nice outlook heading into the offseason... low payroll, nice prospects, new ownership. After they lost out on the FA sweepstakes and hired Billy King, it seems like they lost all control by making a series of questionable moves.
