Thread: The approval process for posts by new users

Default The approval process for posts by new users

In my efforts to begin my posting career here with positive contributions to the board, I wrote two lengthy posts in the ranking the eastern and western conference threads. I have no idea why they weren't approved. I'm a little bitter. I've been wanting to participate at Pacer's Digest for a long time, as it is the best NBA forum, anywhere, period. I wrote nothing inappropriate. So... Where are my posts?

    Thank you.

Also, does my private message inbox ever get more than one slot? I thought it would be a good idea to keep the "welcome" message that details Pacers Digest rules and etiquette.

    Thanks for any information...

You didn't make those posts with this account, did you? Because it only shows you having made one other post as of this moment, and you said you wrote at least two others before.

What was your other username? It's possible they just got overlooked (and my apologies if that's the case), or there might have been a software error.

Your PM inbox limit will increase considerably after you've been posting for a little bit.

Yes, I made both posts with this account. When I submitted them, I received the same 'Your post has been submitted and must await approval' message that I will get as soon as I hit "Submit Reply" now. They're poofed?

This happened to my wolf game account "coolio" I still can't post with that account.

They should be there now. Please let me know if they're not.

Why did you make a separate account for the wolf game?

It doesn't much matter at this point. A little too complicated to explain, but the account was useful and also a little fun (like StankoLover and GrahamMernatzi). I did find it odd that nomatter how I tried to participate with that user name. I was consistently locked out.

I'm not surprised that others are having a hard time activating accounts.

They've appeared! Thanks, Hicks. Now I'll hope people read the forum that far back.

While we're on this subject, sort of, how are the spam bots getting to where they are making posts if an admin has to approve their first two posts? I've seen several times where a thread shows up as deleted by an admin. If the bot wasn't approved to post how did it get there? Just curious.

I think if it's not approved it shows up as deleted. I may be wrong.

It shows up for us, we have an option to "delete as spam" that simultaneously allows us to ban the account. When we do that, it will still show up as deleted, even thought it never saw the light of day.

Can you link to them? I'd like to see them.

    Thanks.
Nuntius was right. I was wrong. Frank Vogel has retained his job.
