Suns Expected To Let Amundson Walk

It doesn't appear as though free-agent big man Louis Amundson will return to the Suns for a third season.

"It's too bad Phoenix didn't value me enough to keep me around," Amundson said. "I felt like it was a great situation and I gave everything I have. It's a business and I'm trying to have a thick skin.

"I was always concerned (about the chances). Knowing they signed Hakim Warrick and Channing for that much money ($30 million over five years), that was not a good sign."

Amundson said that the Bobcats, Raptors and Warriors have shown interest in signing him.

"We're talking pretty seriously with a lot of teams," said Amundson's agent, Mark Bartelstein. "He's the best big on the market."

Plumlee reminds me of a young Dale Davis. Good rebounding and he contests shots well on defense and his offensive game is very raw just like DD's was coming out of college.

Ya, I liked what I saw out of Amundson when I would see him play against us ..

I can't believe they didn't re-sign him to be honest..
    He seemed like a Foster/Varajao - type hard-nosed player ..
IMO every team needs a guy like that ..

Shouldn't be too hard for him to finda good situation on another team..

A nice rotational big who is well rounded. Good rebounder, provides toughness, decent defensively, but not great. Will block a few shots and give you 100% every night. Gritty and tough big who would be a great 4th big in a rotation. He would be a solid player for us to consider if we didn't have such a train wreck in our front court. We have a lot of bodies that don't make a whole lot of sense together at this point. We don't have any need for him this off-season, but I think he would be a nice fit in Golden State. He runs the floor well and would do well in the uptempo offense as a complimentary player.

I would welcome him to the team with open arms, but I don't see a good fit right now.

I would kill someone to get him on the team.

It ain't going to happen as there is no way to trade for him via a sign and trade but this is exactly the kind of rugged tough interior player we need.

Rough off season for my roommate who's a Suns fan, and all Suns fans for that matter...It all began with the Ron Artest game 5 bank shot winner. He literally has never been the same since. Then the moves began.

    Lose Amare

Sign Channing Frye for 30mil over 5 years, yikes!

Then Hakim Warrick for 4yrs 18mil...double yikes!!

Acquire Hedo Turkoglu and his hefty contract.

Then let a fan favorite, and hard nosed guy in Amundson walk.

No lie, he absolutely hates every one of these moves.

But hey maybe it will all work out...

I have a pony tail bias.

Other than that, he'd probably be okay.

“People talk about how quiet he [McKey] is, but he’s really been helpful. He gives a lot of insight to players in how to guard certain teams and what their weaknesses are. The whole team listens to him, and it makes my job a lot easier. Having players like him is what pro basketball is all about for me.” —Larry Brown

For some odd reason, I have followed Amundson from his 10 day contracts to the Suns. He is all engery, hustle, and toughness... the type of player you'd like to have on a team. Unfortunately, there just isn't a place for him on the Pacers.

He'd be a good fit for the Bobcats and Brown. They need another big, especially after cutting Dampier to be under the LT.

If we were to somehow move Foster and Solo as part of a trade for a PG, I would love to add Amundson to the team. He could provide 20-25 quality minutes backing up both the 4 & 5. Someone else mentioned following him since his 10-day contracts and I've been doing the same. He is the very definition of a work horse (basically a young Jeff Foster) and would be loved by the local fan base

Phoenix is a disgrace, what an horrific off-season. Amundson will be an excellent addition to someone. I like the idea of Charlotte signing him -- but they'll face plenty of competition.

I bet this guy gets a deal from some team for more than 5 million a year. If Darko can get 20, then Amundson can get 25.

I would love to see him in a Pacers uniform. Problem is I would want him to play about 40 minutes a game

I wish we had room for him. He could be our next foster and i know bird would like him. if only we would of made a trade a somepoint then we might have him.
