Good news for Danny!

Just don't get hurt, Danny....
Good for Danny! I doubt he makes the 12 man though.
Regardless, good experience for him and hope he stays healthy!
I don't know why he wouldn't make the 12 man. He is about the 3rd or fourth best nba player on that roster.
Is 12 the definitive limit for the FIBA championships? I thought they were allowed 15?
Regardless, I think Danny has a shot at making the top 12. He's one of the best shooters, and is also a very good help defense presence around the basket which is useful in the international game.

Danny compares favorably to everyone else on the team. Unless you believe guys like curry are already better than him, or rudy gay? Igoudala?
Who is head and shoulders better than danny besides rose and durant? Maaaybe rondo?
Your underrating him.
But of the wings/forwards on that roster, he is probably better than a good portion of them. But it isn't simply about being better, it is the fit with the roster.
Danny > Odom, Igoudala, Green, Gay
Does he make the final roster? I don't know. I think Iggy and Odom may be better fits with the team and Gay is still so young that they may try to hold on to him to keep him in the system.

Gay and Iggy have been excellent to this point. Coach K wants a pure shooter on the team, which is Curry.
I believe Granger is better than all of them. But at some point you have to look at what the team needs, and Durant is the better version of Danny. I'm not sure the team really has any need for Danny, except for maybe some size due to a smaller international game.
Regardless, I hope Danny does make it.
I would use Danny in a sixth man role on this team. I.E. DWade in the Olympics in '08. You read many similar things about not needing him on that team, but he ended up being fantastic off the bench.
I'm really happy for him as long as he doesn't run off and fall in love with Durant and Rose. Otherwise it's a good thing for him and us I think.
Happy for Granger, I was honestly on the fence about whether he would get cut or not, granted I only got to see the showcase. Eric Gordon made the cut too.
I think I'm more interested on who didn't make the cut now
by Chris Sheridan
I cannot find any articles anywhere to verify Well's tweet, and he didn't actually give a source. I'd like to know where he heard this, because I can't find any news suggesting that there have already been cuts.No Team USA cuts until Wednesday
After originally saying they'd make up their minds by Monday, Team USA now says it will not decide until Wednesday which four players will be cut from the roster.
To me, this is a clear sign that there is an internal debate raging over which four players to cut. I handicapped who I think will be trimmed in this post Sunday.
When I spoke to team director Jerry Colangelo after the Team USA intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night, he was adamant that the decision would be made Monday, and the roster would shrink to 15.
Given this latest delay, it would not surprise me in the slightest if they end up bringing 16 players to training camp in New York, which begins Aug. 9.
I've read Gerald Wallace, Tyreke Evans, and OJ Mayo. Also, McGee is on the line too, if they decide they don't need the big men. We'll know tommorrow who gets cut.
LINK"I still have to reach three or four people,'' Colangelo said Tuesday.
So it's implied that most of the 19 have already gotten word on weather they've made it or not. Guessing Wells' source is either Granger or someone close to him.
Also, the same link says that that they've been informed by sources that Mayo (mildly surprising), Wallace and Evans are the likely cuts. Which means the final cut would almost assuredly be a center or point guard.
edit: Emcee beat me to it.
Here's my take, Danny was a viewed as a top 5-6 player on the team when the camp started by Coach K and Colangelo, and that made up for his poor camp performance. He was basically already a lock to make it past this cut when the camp opened IMO.
Congrats to Danny. A special opportunity for him.
danny can, and most probably will play both the 3 and 4 considering the dynamics of the international game. i don't think he'll be cut. who are the bigs on the current roster?
Granger Makes First Cut:
Danny is the second best SF on the team. It look like Mayo, Wallace, and Evans all got cut.
To those who thought Danny had a bad camp, that is wrong. He only played bad in the scrimage. He was playing well in camp before the scrimage. Remember a day or two before that he was 3 for 5 from three and had 11 points and all of the press that were there said he played really well.
On NBA TV I heard Coach K say he had never seen Granger play until this summer.
"I like our group of people," Ainge told USA Today. "I'm trying to teach them about basketball, and they're trying to teach me about analytics."
