Why For Houston: They just got Kyle Lowry back to play PG for them, and Murph gives them another player good at crashing the boards, as well as stretch the floor for them. Solo has some value in blocking shots, and comes off the books for them next season anyways. If Murph doesn't work out, Houston walks away with major cap space. If he does, he has a significantly better team.
Why for Indiana: We bring in the PG of the future with an offensive stud in Aaron Brooks. I don't like Jeffries, but at some point you have to take back bad players to get good ones. Not to mention he's an expiring that we can let walk next year. We can cut Anderson for cheap and sign Magnum in his place, and the roster would be set. We'd need to find an extension for Brooks, but this allows us to move TJ later in the season for a position other than PG, while still having Dun and Foster's expirings to spend next season, or maybe trade this year.
