Carl Landry was on the news last week talking with Chris Hagan I believe. Said he wouldn't mind exploring the idea of coming back to Indiana next year, but right now his heart his in Sacto.

I saw that too. It sounds like he would be interseted in signing here. He has to say his heart is in Sactown. He is a team player.
I dont think Landry is starting PF material for a contender (which we want to get to). I see him as off the bench material, and we already have Hansbrough and McRoberts. I would waste too much money on Landry
"So, which one of you guys is going to come in second?" - Larry Bird before the 3 point contest. He won.

17-10 isn't good enough to be a starter for the Pacers? You kidding me? He can actually play solid defense too. Wow. I'd take Carl Landy over both McBob and Hansbrough.

Did Troy Murphy write this article??? I dont think the author has seen Murphy play defence...there is two ends of the basketball court FYI
No, but I question the author's pen name:
    "James Oh Bryan"
"Larry Bird: You are Officially On the Clock! (3/24/08)"

Landry is going to demand at least $8mill per season

If we do not do everything possible to get horford larry bird needs to be fired. Offer him whatever he wants. Him and granger together would bring this team back.

THAT'S what we've been waiting for, the famed free agents that we'll have cap room for after 3+ years of suffering?

Carmelo, Parker, Horford, Gasol are not coming to Indy for any amount of money, and Carmelo is the only player truly worthy of a max contract.

I sure don't want to over pay for a lesser player like Conley or a good young player like Noah. Any player of any stature is going to be way over paid just to come here to Indy.

Our only hope is to find gems in the draft over the next few years or hope one or more of our current draft picks really blows up. IMO

Landry IS starting material for a contender or non-contender. He plays harder than just about anyone on the court. He can score, rebound, and defend. If he only demands 8 mil a year next year, then teams will be lined up around the block to sign him.

Regardless of whether we think that Parker or Horford would come to a Small Town Market or not.....if these are the top FAs at their respective positions, I really hope that TPTB seriously consider making the best offer that they deem appropriate and make a huge effort to try to sign them. At 12:01am on the 1st day of Free Agency next season, I really hope that Bird is at the front door of Mr. Langoria and Morway is at the front door of Horford...both with a truck load of $$$ to show how serious they are that they want them.

I know that there's a greater chance that they will end up in NY or remain with the Hawks....but I want to make sure that we try our best to try to retain their services.

Whose the next best PF and PG?

Looking at the list....I'd make a run at Landry and then David West for PF. I guess that Conley's the next best bet for PG?

Ash from Army of Darkness: Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

I don't think Atlanta would match a max contract offer to keep Horford and I don't see any other team offering him that. He'd gladly walk on his bare feet to Indianapolis to sign that contract, small market or not.

I'd need to feel very strongly about him being the missing piece that would put me as a 55 wins team and the owner willingness to keep spending money to resign FAs and add other pieces to consider offering him that type of deal. It'd be a quite adventurous move.
