Default Length of Contracts for Future Pacers FAs

This is nba stats guy who is consulting with Pacers, so I'm wondering if this will impact length of contracts Pacers will put out in the future.

"Looking over all the data, it appears the sweet spot for free-agent contracts is about three years. Past this, the risk escalates quickly. Predicting performance next season is hard enough, so trying to figure out what a player will be like five years down the line (or even whether they'll be healthy then) is nigh impossible. For stars, that risk is an acceptable part of acquiring an elite talent. Among the NBA's middle class, it's difficult to justify going much more than three years. A four-year deal can be justified because the expiring contract becomes valuable as a trade asset the last year, but five-year deals to marginal talents simply aren't worth it."

Given that we have Hibbert and BRush going on the FA Market as RFAs in 3 seasons ( after the 2012/2013 season ), we should only be looking at 3 year deals with a 4th Year Team Option or ( if the Player is worth it ) a 4 year Guaranteed Deal with a 5th Year Team Option.

By the end of the 2012-2013 season...we have to start considering whether we have the $$$ to resign our prospects.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

Hibbert and BRush will possibly be RFA's after the 2011-2012 season.

The Pacers will really have to decide next summer (or whenever the CBA is settled) about extensions.
