That's an awfully big leap especially for the thread title that you have chosen. Also, a link to this information would be nice, unless you are the source of this.

There are no indications what Colangelo might do now with either Calderon or Evans, but league sources indicate at least one Eastern Conference team remains quite interested in obtaining Calderon, the 28-year-old point guard who has spent his entire five-year NBA career with the Raptors. League officials insist the other part of Colangelo’s grand remake — Hedo Turkoglu to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa — will go through with no worries but it has not advanced far enough to be considered officially completed.

Could the team interested be the pacers?
I might go with Calderon, he might be a nice piece for us, I would certainly consider it. I don't know much about him to be honest, but have watched him play a few time and I liked what I saw from him.

The Bobcats were interested but MJ ( like always ) pre-maturely pulled out at the last second

The question is what remaining Eastern Conference Team would need to spend that much $$$ on a Starting quality PG like Calderon.

That contract is toxic, though I'm sure we would be happy to take Jarret Jack off their hands.

I sure hope not, we're just getting ready to shed some albatross contracts, not add new ones that are worse.

Doesn't that just say a source says an Eastern Conference team is interested in Calderon? Not even the Pacers necessarily?

As I said in the PG thread, I could see multiple teams. Pistons, Hawks and Cavs to name a few.

Pistons if they can move Stuckey to SG and trade Rip or Gordon

Hawks b/c Bibby is old, Crawford is better as 6th man, and Teague is still unknown

Cavs b/c Mo Williams for Calderon was rumored before Lebron bolted. Perhaps the Cavs just want to go in another direction

This is horrible....he has a bad contract, doesnt play defence and is often injured

I wouldn't mind Calderon. Contract is a little thick. Even when injured he played 68 games. Defense is suspect, but everything else fits in quite well.

I wouldn't hate the move if it happened.

Think his agent is the source of this, trying to get him out of Toronto and get Charlotte to pull the trigger?

I was going to suggest the Knicks but I doubt they waste their precious cap space in light of next summer (Paul, Parker).

I wonder how a team feels when they think they have a deal done, and they tell a player they're being traded and then the other team backs out of the deal?

Charlotte has done that twice now, and it can't be good for future business. Especially if the players involved had no idea they were on the trade block... think they've been traded, and then the deal is dead and that player has to go back to the team that were ready to part ways with them (see Brandon Rush)

I don't know, it may not be the biggest deal, and I understand you could have a better deal or change of heart, but I don't think that's something you would want to make a habit of?
