Default Why isn't Rodrigue Beaubois a candidate for our PG search

Of all the young PGs I've seen mentioned on here, I've yet to see Roddy's name mentioned. He's as talented, if not more talented, than Collison or any of these other kids that people have fallen in love with the idea of trading for. Mark Cuban has said that he won't trade Beaubois, but he has struggled in the Vegas Summer League so you have to think there's no way the kid is actually untouchable if the right deal came along.

They liked the way he played last year in the NBA, that's why Mark Cuban has said that he won't trade Beaubois.

As for him being untouchable who do you want to give up for him, Hibbert or Danny?

Marc Stein said on a BS report last year that behind Dirk, Beaubois was the second fan favorite in Dallas...The fans love him, and the organization is high on him too. Not saying he can't be traded, but it would take more than a pedestrian deal to acquire him.

The Mavs Traded Away A Young Stud PG To Get Jason Kidd.

Now That He's Near The End Of His Rope I'd Doubt They Would Trade Away Another.

Yes to Roddy (Dallas won't give him up unless it is for like LEBRON lol...smh), but no to JJ. I don't think Barea can do much for us. He's fine where he is.

the idea is to provide this team with long term improvement not just add random players. hell, if that's the way it is, why don't we just sign every random FA PG right now? that'd add pg bodies.

the rumor is TPTB is looking at one year deals which is a short term fix. thats why i put his name out there. you don't have to get your panties in a bunch over it.

i mean we could always go after rodrigue, rajon, rose, or chris paul, but i stopped eating dreamcicles a long time ago.

I'm not. I asked a simple question, you answered with an uninspiring comment, and I explained why I thought it was uninspiring. As for a one year fix, you'd want a PG who can at least start in the league.
Please don't be offended by my comments.

Why are you so interested in a SG for your vacant PG position?

For the same reason no one is asking "Why isn't Danny Granger part our of SF search?"

Rumor has it that Nellie (i.e. Don Nelson) wants to sign Jeremy Lin and stash him in D-League for a year. If Beaubois (with all of his athleticism) cannot handle the PG role, Jeremy Lin seems to have the leadership and intangibles for the PG spot that Nellie likes to see. If you've watched them both in Summer League play, Jerermy Lin is playing exceptionally well and is becoming a fan favorite wherever he plays for his reckless drives to the basket. Anyone see him OUTplay John Walls in Summer League play. He definitely didn't have Wall's outstanding athleticism but he was athletic enough and fearless in his drives to the basket against Wall and played a kind of a game that was uncanny for someone who was undrafted and played at Harvard. Nellie even calls his game 'Steve Nash' like at this point in his career. Watch this guys highlights in college and Summer League with the Mavs on Youtube. Very interesting prospect!!!

You lost me at "summer league play."

Put Lin and Wall on an NBA floor, and then get back to me. Who outplayed who at a pickup game at the YMCA isn't terribly convincing.

Beaubois is extremely talented. One of the young guards in the league with more potential, has an opportunity to be special. Elite defense, very good pick and roll player, tremendous athleticism, solid shooter. To me he's the 5th best guard out of last year's draft. Dallas' asking price is very high and rightly so.

OK...you know that Donn Nelson of the Mavs and "Nellie" are two different people? "Nellie" is Donn Nelson's father, Don Nelson, and he's with Golden State.

Please do not start the roady b talk here. It's all I hear all day long is about how great he is. Dallas fans love him more than Dirk and just a little bit less than Tony romo.

I have mentioned him and even put out a trade proposal in the trade proposal section.

Anyway, Kstat, how can you say anything about a SG playing PG?

Do I need your permission? I don't like Rodney Stuckey playing the point any better.

You certainly don't need my permission. Do you want him traded or how do you want to use the kid at this point?
