    Default Water Heaters

Looks like my water heater is leaking from the bottom of the unit. Not good. It's not leaking at any of the joints or pipes. I guess it's been doing this for a few days, as now I have water underneath some of the laminate floor and linoleum floor in the two adjoining rooms. Yippee.

Anyone know of any good water heater service people? Maybe use someone like ARS Rescue Rooter? Or should I just go to Home Depot/Lowe's and buy a heater and have them install it?

Well I have no idea, but I drank a snapple today and this was the random fact:

"A tankless water heater uses half the energy of a standard model."

Just a coincidence that the cap is sitting next to my laptop while reading this thread. Hope you can get it fixed quickly and easily. Sorry I couldn't help though.

Buy a more efficient one and install it yourself!

We don't know where you live, so we can't comment in more detail. But chances are good that you can find a model that will save you money. The installation is easy.
And I won't be here to see the day
It all dries up and blows away
I'd hang around just to see
But they never had much use for me

It's been taken care of. Thanks!

Brand new water heater. Installed it. Ripped up floor. Replacing the floor tomorow after the area dries.

    Yay!

    how old was it?

had a similar problem with a new one, and the element had gone bad... replacing it was very simple, though draining the tank wasn't fun.

I work at Lowes, and had to cover plumbing last night. Took a call from a gentlemen wanting to know how much for an install of a water softner. $299 for just a basic install. Price varies from zip code to zip code, and that was for the Muncie area which is pretty low standard of living.

    Just an FYI.

My Water heater has been leaking from the bottom for over 3 months now. Its in the basement, so I'm gonna let it go until I see alot of water on the floor. Its not like the water heater can't be replaced in one day so. But good to hear that homedepot has a decent price.
