Default Let's Play: Going? Staying? Coming?

The Pacers have 15 players on their roster (limit), assuming the team signs Rolle and Stephenson. Inevitably, the Pacers must sign or trade for a point guard.

So, who is going? Who is staying? And, has anyone heard who may be coming?

    hm
I haven't heard of anybody coming yet, though I'm still waiting on a PG
As for who is going...I expect Murphy, Ford, Solo to be gone come opening day. Perhaps Dahntay too.

seems i'm the only one who wants to keep Dahntay. i think he's the kind of player we want on our bench if we're going to be a winning team.

I agree, but I feel like his contract may be one of the easiest to move because it's so small

I think Brandon will at least be gone.

I think we're gonna add another 4 or 5 new faces via trade in addition to the 3 draft selections.

Well aren't we supposed to be signing one of the best shooters in the NBA at some point? I'm still waiting on that one...

I don't think that Inferno is going to be moved.....given Bird's reluctance to take on any contract beyond 2010-2011 ( which I assume would have been something he intended to do as part of the 3 year plan before he signed Inferno ), he wouldn't have offered him a contract that didn't last beyond 2010-2011 if he didn't want to keep him.

There's a greater chance that Inferno would not be moved ( cuz he's part of the 3 year plan ) then there is a chance that he will be traded.

Even at $2.9 mil for the 2011-2011 season...I can see Teams being reluctant to add salary beyond the 2010-2011 season due to possible future CBA concerns.

This is David West, he is the Honey Badger, West just doesn't give a *****....he's pretty bad *ss cuz he has no regard for any other Player or Team whatsoever.

i think what you see right now is pretty much what we're getting. i think we might sign an earl watson type pg for now just to hold the fort down (i don't know who though, maybe watson himself) or we just stay pat with ford, price, and stephenson able to play the 1.

I think Indy will get Farmar. Rockets will match anything Indy offers Lowry.

I'm there with you as I'm a huge Dahntay fan. I still firmly believe that once we actually get a coach with a knowledge of the game of basketball, that coach will use Dahntay the right way (especially defensively) and return to form of when he was with Denver. Back with Denver in the playoffs, he completely stopped CP3 and therefore the Hornets were AWFUL and couldn't get anything done in the playoffs. He stopped Jason Terry from heating up. He made Kobe Bryant into even more the ultimate crybaby on the court and really got under Kobe's skin. So I do believe that we will be keeping Dahntay and he will really start to wow Pacers fans once we get rid of O'Brien.

There is no point in getting rid of Dahntay. It doesn't help the team at all.

NOBODY knows what the lineup will be come opening day, not even the Pacer brass.

They Brass could have a trade in mind, or they could have a free agent pickup in mind, but it takes two to make a deal. If the other team doesn't like the deal offered, or the free agent doesn't like the contract offered, well it's on to another deal or another free agent.

The Brass at least could make an educated guess at our opening day lineup, but we as fans haven't a clue unless we know someone in the Pacer organization that could make that educated guess.

That's just the way it is an anything we as fans say is just throwing stuff at walls in hope something sticks.

"Wamp, wamp." Exactly. It's July, and outside of our rookie prospects there are few topics to pursue in Pacerland. Speculation, hoping that something sticks to the wall, is good fun and causes no harm.

My 2-part trade / 1 part FA signing "Comings & Going" plan:

    Trade #1 w/ Cha:
    Coming: Chandler (exp)/Henderson
    Going: Ford (exp)/D.Jones/Solo (exp)
-Keep '11 cap space, moves Ford, Get young SG, clears roster spot.

    Trade #2 w/ NJ:
Coming: Humphries (exp), 2nd rd. pick
    Going: Murphy (exp)
-Clears cap t/y to sign a FA, get 1 yr. look at young PF, pick up a pick.

    FA Signing:
    Coming: Farmar
-Young, cheap, fills a need, good shooter, allows Stephenson to grow.

    15 man Roster:
    C: Hibbert/Chandler/Foster
    PF: Hansbrough/McBob/Humphries/Rolle
    SF: Granger/Dun/George
    SG: Rush/Henderson
    PG: Farmar/Stephenson/Price

    I kinda like it!

Who stays: Granger, Hibbert, Hansborough, Price, Dahntay*, Dunleavy, McRoberts and all 3 draft picks.

Who goes for sure/Trade Bait: Ford and Solo/Rush and Murphy

    Questionable: Foster

Who comes either thru FA or trades: ???

*I want to include Dahntay under "who goes/trade bait", but... He didn't perform up to expectations defensively last season, IMO, but he could still be that defensive stopper if that's what he focuses on. Otherwise, I think the Pacers drafted atleast two players who can fill his role easily enough and be much more productive offensively.

Price won't be ready for camp or the start of the year.
    Stephenson may never be ready.(MO)
    And Ford......

I'm not sure which is scarier, TJ starting again or Stephenson at backup pg.

    NO way we stand pat.

That would probably be my first choice at this point.
    Although I still want Collison.
And don't see why we shouldn't be able to put a package together to entice them enough...............
